Abstract

The present invention discloses a protective cover that fastens onto the handle of an infant car seat carrier suspending the protective cover amply over a baby inside. Drawstrings both front and back allow the protective cover to be secured onto the bottom portion of the infant car seat carrier, achieving tent like protection without obstructing the function of the carrier or baby's breathing space. After properly installed onto an infant car seat carrier a baby can be shielded against a wide range of unwanted conditions including but not limited to; sun, wind, rain, snow, cold, dust, noise, bugs and unwanted contact.

Description

    BACKGROUND
  • In choosing an infant product mothers tend to be very cautious. Keeping an infant from harm or discomfort is a major priority, just as much as the means of safety it self. Like many mothers, while draping a blanket for protection over my own infant's car seat carrier, I found that it would be blown off by the wind, pulled off by the baby or just slip off. Looking beyond the draped blanket into available products of this sort I found that either protection or safety were compromised.
  • The infant car seat carrier cover of my design shown here, utilizes a suspended protecting cover fastened to the handle of the infant car seat carrier that will shield a baby in a carrier against many unpleasant elements without compromising car seat carrier function or access to its handle as well as keeping the protecting cover's proper placement, which does not obstruct baby's breathing space.
  • BRIEF SUMMERY
  • The Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover solves a common safety issue. Draping a blanket, or any other type of cloth, over an infant car seat carrier will block proper access to the handle of the infant car seat carrier. Attempting to grasp the handle of the infant car seat carrier with cloth in between hand and handle limits the ability to safely lift or hold the infant car seat carrier. By suspending the protecting cover inside the infant car seat carrier from the handle, the carrier can be grasped or held as it was designed.
  • The Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover also solves another common safety issue. Draping a blanket, or any other type of cloth, inside an infant car seat carrier over the baby will cover the baby's face and reduce breathing space. By suspending the protecting cover inside the infant car seat carrier from the handle of the carrier, the baby's breathing space is not obstructed.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1 shows an attached Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover with drawstrings loose.
  • FIG. 2 shows an attached Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover with drawstrings cinched.
  • FIG. 3 shows a Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover laid out flat with the outer layer showing.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • My invention is a protecting cover of cloth with the approximant size of 35 inches by 35 inches, the corners being rounded (1). Cloth straps with hook and loop fasteners (2) (8) are used to fasten the cover to an infant car seat carrier's handle (5). The Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover sits like a tent suspended over a baby inside (7) and is attached under the handle (5) of the infant car seat carrier. Either end of the cloth (3) (4) can be moved up and over the infant car seat carrier handle to expose baby. Both ends may remain down, loose (FIG. 1) or cinched in with the drawstrings (FIG. 2) for a tent like shield. The drawstrings on the front and back have been sewn into the outer edge of the cover and are used for keeping the cover more secure if needed. The drawstring stoppers are used to pull in the drawstrings and hold them into place (3) (4). The Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover can be used with or without an infant car seat carrier's hood, and the carrier's handle (5) can be moved to its back position with the Suspended Infant Car Seat Carrier Cover still attached.
