Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention relates to a support base of a liquid crystal display and particularly to an improvement of the support base of a liquid crystal display, in which a rotational frame is controlled with an adjustment device to displace from a vertical direction to a horizontal direction, such that the liquid crystal display can be parallel to the base plate to reduce the package volume during delivery and, meanwhile, is possible for being hung up. [0002]
  • 2. Description of Related Art [0003]
  • Due to providing advantages such as light in weight, thin in thickness, less radiation, and etc., the liquid crystal display is getting popular instead of the traditional screen display. Mostly, the conventional liquid crystal display is composed of a liquid crystal panel and a lower base, which are vertically joined to each other. In order to secure the stability of the liquid crystal display, the lower base has a width thereof being a couple times of the thickness of the liquid crystal display to keep a stable gravity center thereof during an optimal view angle (for instance, an angle between −5° to 20° with respect to the vertical reference direction) of the liquid crystal display being adjusted such that it is capable of free from falling down and hurting the expensive liquid crystal display. However, the size of the lower results in an extremely large volume during delivering the conventional liquid crystal display so that it leads to a tremendous increase of delivery cost with a relatively less quantity of delivered liquid crystal display. [0004]
  • Although there is a step less adjustable liquid crystal display available in the market, an extremely large frictional torque value for the rotating shaft thereof is set for assuring an effect of the display panel being located at any angular position stagnantly to avoid being incapable of stagnantly positioning due to insufficient torque. Further, Even if the rotating shaft allows the display panel being possible to be parallel to the lower base and overcome the deficiency of excessively large package volume, the excessively large friction torque frequently makes the user hard to rotate the display panel and it is very likely to result in a loose rotating shaft in case of the rotating shaft being forced to turn. Consequently, the liquid crystal display becomes hard to be adjusted and positioned correctly. [0005]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The crux of the present invention is to provide a support base of a liquid crystal display, which includes a stationary part, a rotational part, an axial joint part and a catch device. A resilient device can be selectively joined to the support base. A lock jut is provided to selectively move in a rotary recess for angular adjustment or engage with lock recess and the liquid crystal display can become parallel to the lower base during the rotational part rotating with the locating plate.[0006]

  • FIGS. 5A and 5B are an exploded perspective view and an assembled perspective view of the support base according to the present invention in a further embodiment thereof.[0012]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. [0013] 1 to 3, basically a support base of a liquid crystal display according to the present invention includes a stationary part 1, a rotational part 2, an axial joint part 3 and a catch part 4. Further, a resilient device 5 is optionally adapted to the support base.
  • Wherein, the [0014] stationary part 1 is a bent frame and in order to have a better support effect, it is preferable that two stationary parts 1 are provided oppositely. A single stationary part 1 is described only hereinafter for convenience. The stationary part 1 at the bottom thereof has a joint plate 11 with at least a fixing hole 111 such that the stationary part 1 can be fastened to a lower base of the liquid crystal display and at the upper side thereof has an axial hole 12 for being passed through the axial joint part 3 with an upper arctic rim 13. The arctic rim 13 at the front and the rear ends thereof has a front stopper 131 and a rear stopper 132 respectively.
  • The [0015] rotational part 2 is a frame shaped body also and used for fixing the panel screen of the liquid crystal display such that the display panel can rotate in accordance with the rotational part 2. The rotational part 2 has a transverse plate 21 with two ends thereof having a spacing corresponding to a distance between the two stationary parts 1 and perpendicularly extending an end plate 22 respectively. The end plate 22 is provided with a locating hole 221 for being passed through with the axial joint part 3. Besides, a stop projection 3 extends transversely from an intersection of the transverse plate 21 and the end plate 22 to keep contact with the arctic rim 13 during displacing along the arctic rim 13. Hence, both the front and the rear stoppers 131, 132 act as an initiating and a limiting positions of the rotational part 2. Further, the end plate 22 has one or more engaging holes 222 for joining the catch device 4.
  • The [0016] axial joint part 3 is a stem 13 with at least a lateral milled plane 32 for passing through the axial hole 12 and the catch device 4. An end of the axial joint part 3 is an engaging end 33 such as a thread screw end for engaging with an urging piece 34 such that the stationary part 1, the rotational part 2 and the axial joint part 3 can basically form a rotary shaft.
  • The [0017] catch device 4 is composed of a locating plate 41 and a retaining piece 42 and passed through by the axial joint part 3. The locating plate 41 has a plurality of radial rotary recesses 412 with a lock recess 411 corresponding to each rotary recess 412 and is provided with projections 413 corresponding to the engaging holes 222 in the end plate 22 such that the projections 413 can be inserted into the engaging holes 222 to allow the locating plate 41 and the rotational plate 2 being coupled to each other. The retaining piece 42 at a lateral side thereof has two opposite lock juts 421 being fixedly attached to the stem 31 and each of the lock juts 421 at the inner side thereof has a recess 422 for offering a proper flexibility. Hence, the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the locating plate 41 moves with the rotational part 2 and the axial joint part 3 and the retaining piece 42 are fixedly attached to both sides of the stationary part 1 respectively.
  • Besides, in order to increase the frictional torque, a [0018] resilient device 5 can be disposed between the catch device 4 and the urging piece 34 and the resilient device 5 is a set of disk springs illustrated in the present invention. It is noted that the disk spring set being used as the resilient device 5 is not a limitation and a coil spring or a solid spring can be used instead. Further, in order to rotate smoothly, an anti-wear ring 6 with lubrication grease coated apertures/recesses 61 is added between the end plate 22 and the stationary part 1 to eliminate noise effectively in addition to enhancing the lubrication. Further, a washer 62 can be provided between the resilient device 5 and the urging piece 34.
  • Referring to FIG. 2 again, while in operation, the [0019] rotational part 2 and the locating plate 41 can rotate synchronously in case of the user rotating the liquid crystal display and the two lock juts 421 are in the rotary recesses 412 so that an optimal view angle such as −5° to 20° (measured with respect to a reference position of the liquid crystal display panel perpendicular to the table top). When a force exerts continuously, the two lock juts 421 escape from the rotary recesses 412 and displaces along the surface of the stationary plate 41 to allow the two lock juts 421 engaging with the two lock recesses 411 due to torque release during approaching the two lock recesses 411 and constituting a state as shown in FIG. 3, in which the rotational part 2 is perpendicular to the stationary part 1, so that an expected effect can be obtained. This means the liquid crystal display is changed to a horizontally disposed H shape from an inverted T shape as a horizontally flat display, which can be hung up by way of a plurality of hanging hole at the lower base thereof.
  • Referring to FIGS. 4A and 4B, another embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. A [0020] rotating shaft 7 is used instead of both the preceding rotational part 2 and the axial joint part 3. Wherein, the rotating shaft 7 at an end thereof has a stem 71 with at least a milled plane 72 and an engaging end 73 which are the same as the axial joint part 3, and at another end thereof has a support end 74 with at least a conjunction 741 such as a connecting hole so as to join the liquid crystal display panel. The stationary part 1 at the axial hole 12 thereof being changed to a circular hole and at least an engaging hole 14 is provided. The locating plate 41 fits with the engaging hole by way of the projection 413 thereof so as to be fixedly attached to the axial hole 12 at an end thereof. Further, the retaining piece 42 at the center thereof is passed through with the stem 71 so as to move with the rotating shaft 7. Hence, the retaining piece 42 can rotate with the rotating shaft 7 synchronously as soon as the rotating shaft 7 and can selectively make angular adjustment in the rotary recess 412 or engage with lock recess 411 to allow the liquid crystal display being parallel to the lower base.
  • In order to limit the rotation of preceding embodiment, a limit plate [0021] 8 is provided between the rotating shaft 7 and stationary part 1 to be passed through by the stem 71 and moves with the stem 71. The limit plate 8 at a lateral side extends a lateral projection 81 to contact with the arctic rim 13 and move along with the front stopper 131 and the rear stopper 132 as limits during the rotating shaft 7 rotating.
  • Referring to FIGS. 5A and 5B, a further embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. The [0022] stationary part 1 at the top thereof can be provided with two sets of opposite lock recesses 15 and rotary recesses 16, which are disposed on the locating plate under the allowable structural stress. The rotating shaft 7 is the same as that shown in the second embodiment so that the stem 71 thereof can pass over the circular axial hole 12 and the elongated oval hole of the retaining piece 412 so as to move with the retaining piece 412. When the rotating shaft 7 rotates with the retaining piece 42, the retaining piece 42 can be selectively made angular adjustment in the rotary recess 412 or engaging with the lock recess 411 so as to allow the liquid crystal display being parallel with the lower base.
  • Besides, in order to enhance the lubrication between the [0023] rotating shaft 7 and the stationary part 1, an anti-wear ring 6, which moves with the rotating shaft 7, can be disposed in between.
  • It is appreciated that the support base of a liquid crystal display according to the present invention provides a retaining piece with two engaging juts to selectively move in two rotary recesses or engage with two lock recesses during a rotational part or a rotating shaft rotating on the stationary part so that the liquid crystal display connected to the rotational part or the rotating shaft can be adjusted to be parallel with the lower base underneath in addition to offering an adjustment of tilting forward or backward for a best view angle. Hence, not only the package volume can be reduced greatly but also the delivery cost can be lowered down with increasing the delivery quantity. Furthermore, the traditional inverted T shaped liquid crystal display can be changed to a horizontally disposed display for being possible to hang up. [0024]
  • While the invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it is to be understood that modifications or variations may be easily made without departing from the spirit of this invention, which is defined by the appended claims. [0025]
