(c1.v 211-75) My invention krelates to flower pot supports, and refers particularly to supports of this character adapted to be supported outside of' awindow.

It is frequently desirable to support one, or more, flower-pots outside of a window, and in order to accomplish this satisfactorily, thede-r vice must have the following attributes:-It must be simple in construction and economic of production; it should be adapted to maintain a plurality of flower-pots of' different sizes; it must be capable of easy attachment to a Window at the outside of the window sill, without the necessity of marring the window sill platform whichl is frequently of'stone, metal or cement; it must be rmly attached to the sill or frame to support the weight imposed uponit; it must not bend under the weight of the ilower-potsj it must be adjustable to various distances from the outer edge of the sill to the window frame; it must be" adjustable to various vdistances fromthe outer.' edge of the sill to that portion of the structure below the sill; it must be readily placed into, and

The particular form of my device shown in the accompanying'd'rawing comprises a'base plate,

or shelf, 10 having a plurality of circular openings 11, l1 through which ower pots 12, 12 of various sizes-may be inserted and supported by abutting upon the upper face the rims of the pots of the shelfl 10.

The outward edge 13 of thevshelf 10 is somewhat arc-shaped, to bow outwardly, while the rearward edge whichhas the straight flanged sides 14, 14, extendingdownwardly, extends inwardly to form thetwo supporting members 15, 1 5, and is continued to form the concavely'curved edge portions 16, 16, the central portion 1'? of which is convexly curved inwardlyto forma middlesupport.- 1 f adjacent its outer edge 13.

The link 19, in each instance, has considerable freedom for rocking movement in the slot 18, ywhereby it may be swung to different inward and outward positions of adjustment, relatively to the transverse position -of the shelf plate '10.,

The shelf plate 10 is further' supported and stifiened at'itsmiddle portions by'means of two substantially similar supporting braces 22, 22 which are carried thereby and 'extend downwardly and inwardly therefrom, these two braces being shownas made of rightehand and left-'hand shape, that being the only difference Abetween them. The upper horizontalends of these braces are rather Wide transversely of vthe shelf plate 10 and each is provided withOppoSitely turned inner and outer horizontal lugs 23 and' 24.

`The inner lug 23 has a series of slightly spaced `apertures 25, '25 arranged transversely of the shelf plate 10 while the outer lug 24 has through it a similarly disposed slot 26 Vofa length at least equal to that of the 'series of apertures 25, 25. A bolt 27 passes through the shelf plateA 10 and one of the apertures 25, 25, whilea similar'bolt 28 passes through the shelf plate110and the slot 26. Thus the brace 22y is adjustable transversely of the shelf plate 10. The lower inwardly turned end of each of these braces 22,322 is provided with a pair of similar oppositely turned lugs ortoes 29, 29 which present rearwardly, or inwardly, directed lfiat vertical faces in alignment withone another.

commonly do, but such variations in window construction will in no wise interfere with the facility with which' the device of my inventionmay be inf stalled thereon. Thus the use of the device of my invention is in no way limited to the particular illustrative example of its installation shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing.

The particular window frame construction shown in the drawing comprises a pair of upright side pieces or window jambs 30, 30, having respectively thereon, or including, outer sash-guiding strips 31, 31, the outer edge faces of which, in this particular instance, are shown as flush withthe outer edge faces of the jambs 30, 30, withfthe window sill 32 projecting outwardly beyondithesefaces; and alsoprojecting, but to a somewhat less extent, beyond the outer face 33 sill 32 forms a usual drip ledge.

Different windows may vary considerably as to the extent to which the sill 32 pro-jectsbeyond the outer wall face 33 andja'lso, independently of this, as to the extent to which the outeredge face of the jambs are set back from theou'teredge of the sill, at its upper face. Reference willnow behad to the installation ofthe device on the winfdow, as shown inthe drawing, its installation on other windowsbeing in general substantially similar.

It will be noted'that the 'shelf plate 10 is of a length to extend entirely across the window space or opening and'itsends are shown as extending beyond -the opposed exposed faces ofthe window jambs 30--30.

AAflower pot support comprisingaxat shelfff plate of a length to extend horizontally across a window substantially at the level of its sill, means on an edge portion of said shelf plate adapted to have a shelf-supporting and shelfpositioning abutting engagement with the edge portion of the window sill, two shelf-supporting hanger links extending above and adapted to 'have their lower ends directly pivotally connected respectively to end portions of said shelf plate, and means adapted for detachably pivotally anchoring the upper ends of said hanger links to side members of the Window frame, said latter means comprising for each of said hanger links a headed stud adapted to be positioned on and to project laterally from a side member of the window frame and a key-hole slot provided through the upper end of said hanger link with the smaller end of said slot directed towards this end of said link thereby to have detachable interlocking pivotal engagement with said headed stud.

2. A flower pot support comprising a flat shelf plate of a length to extend horizontally across a window substantially at the level of its sill, means on an edge portion of said shelf plate adapted to have a shelf-supporting and shelfpositioning abutting engagement with the edge portion of the window sill, two shelf-supporting hanger links extending above and adapted to have their lower ends directly pivotally connected respectively to end portions of said shelf plate and adapted to be pivotally anchored at their upper ends to side members of the window frame, each of said hanger links being adapted to pass freely upwardly through a slot in said shelf plate and being provided with an oppositely projecting cross pin below said shelf plate upon which the tachably pivotally anchoring the upper ends of said hanger links to side members of the window frame, said latter means comprising for each ofy said hanger links a headed stud adapted to be positioned Aon and to project laterally from a side member of the window frame and a key-.hole slot provided through the upper 'end of said hanger link with the smallerl end of said slot directed towards this end of said link thereby to have detachable interlocking pivotal engagement with said headed stud.

3. A flower pot support comprising a flat shelf plate of a length to extend horizontally across a window and means adapted'for removably supporting said shelf plate in horizontaly position across the window substantially at the level of the window sill, said supporting means including a brace member below said shelf plate and adapted to abut against the outer face of the wall structure below the window sill, and means whereby the upper end of said brace member is rigidly secured to said shelf plate for adjustment transversely of the latter, said latter means comprising oppositely turned lugs on the upper end of said brace member with one of these lugs having a series of holes through it and the other having a slot through it, a bolt passing through said shelf plate and engaging in one of said holes, and another bolt passing through said shelf plate and said slot.
