On the outer or lower face of the pad holder as it is worn, a pocket may be provided for holding a change of pads. This is done by stitching a piece 6 along the side edges of the pad holder. One end is open, tape turned under and stitched, but the other is stitched to close it. In this pocket is placed a second pad which may be substituted for the other when the latter is discarded.
On the outer orlower face of the pad holdi er at one end, a pocket is preferably provided by stitching a piece 7 to the body piece, leaving the pocket open towards the end of the holder, said pocket having holes 8 extending through the band 2. In this may be placed a deodorant, or antiseptic powder, or like substance, which gradually sifts, percolates or passes through the holes 8 and falls upon the pad. Thus a reservoir for a deodorant or antiseptic powder and an automatic feeding out of the same is provided. Also in the pocket may be carried a small puff 12 which may be employed to make special or separate application of the powder to particular parts of the body in time of discomfort.
The edges 11, of the band 2 are preferably notched or scalloped so that a continuous edge is avoided and chafing prevented. This makes possible putting the desired tension on the band without discomfort to the wearer. Let it be noted that this tension on the holder is highly important and accordingly provision against irritation, cutting or chaifing is required to secure comfort. My invention prevents such difliculties by employing the scalloped or notched edge 11. The importance of this feature in making the device as a whole entirely operable is very great.
Tlie above described pad holder provides means for effectively securing the pad or napkin. without employing a metallic or rigid means, and therefore contributes to the comfort of the wearer. It also provides storage for a reserve or change of pads and a place for carrying a supply of powder which automatically renders antiseptic the holder.
Furthermore, my invention provides a sanitary pad holder characterized by the positive holding means for retaining the pad which therefrom relieves against all anxiety of the pad part becoming released and falling down.
Obviously, changes may be made in the forms, dimensions and arrangement of the parts of my invention, without departing from the principle thereof, the above setting forth only preferred forms of embodiment.
I claim:
1. A sanitary pad holder embodying a band provided with means whereby apad may be secured to one side thereof, and a deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket disposed on the other side and on one end of said band, and holes extending through said band located at the base of said deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket, whereby said material may gradually fall through the pad disposed upon the side of the band opposite to said deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket.
2. A sanitary pad holder embodying a band provided on one side at each end with a pocketv opening towards the middle of the band; a pad securing means in the form of a tape having its ends secured to said band within each of said pockets and extending transversely of the band, whereby the reduced end portion of a pad may be wrapped about said tape and securely held in place by the pressure obtaining upon said wrappings with in said pocket and said tape protected against soiling; and a deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket disposed on the other side and on one end of said band, and holes extending through said band located at the base of said deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket, whereby said material may gradually fall through the pad disposed upon the side of the band opposite to said deodorant antiseptic substance holding pocket.
