The present invention relates to pads for trusses.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a pad having a connecting head, the parts being of such construction that the head may be readily replaced or changed Without necessitating the renewal of the entire pad. The pad may thus be adapted to treat varying conditions at a minimum ot expense for renewal or replacement.

The numeral l indicates a casing or cover,

Y. the saine being constructed of elastic material, as, tor instance, rubber. The cover l is provided with a reticulated non-skid surface 2. The rear side of the cover is provided With a large opening 3 through which a resilient filler or pad l is inserted. The front portion of the cover is provided with a smaller central opening 5 for the interchangeable head 6. The head 6 is provided With a base 7 which has an annular groove 8 into which the edge of the cover around the opening 5 tits, thus securing the head in the cover. The contacting portion of the head 6 may be ot any suitable construction.

In Figures 1,2 and 3, the upper contacting portion 9 of the head is supported by a long narrow and flexible connector 10. The portion 9 is thus adapted to flex suitably to lit the pad comfortably and etciently to the part to be treated.

In Figures l and 5, a modified form of head is shown in which the upper portion ll is centrally depressed, as shown at 12, such construction being particularly adapted to various conditions.

As Will be understood, the particular form of replaceable head is not of the essence of the present invention, Which consists in the provision of an interchangeable head which may be readily inserted into or removed from a truss pad cover.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A truss pad comprising a resilient liller, an elastic cover adapted to lit around said liller, said cover having an opening, an independently constructed head, said head being undercut to form a contacting portion, a base of area substantially coextensive with said contacting portion and adapted to rest flatly against said liller, and a resilient connector between. said base and contacting portion, said base being provided with a peripheral groove adapted to receive the edge of said cover around said opening whereby said head is secured in said cover by the compression of said liller.
