This invention relates to air purifiers or inhalers, the primary object of the invention being to provide a device which may be positioned in the nostrils, to purify the air drawn into the lungs, by removing foreign matter such as dust and germs therefrom.
An important object of the invention is to provide a device of this character of such curvature that it may be conveniently placed within the nostril and held in position by its contact with the nostril, without danger of the same becoming accidentally displaced.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which may be positioned within the nostril where it will be hidden from view, to the end that the device may be conveniently used in public.
A still further object of the invention is 0 the provision of an inhaler having a pocket for the reception of a wad of absorbent cotton or sponge which may be saturated with a suitable medicament for treating diseases of the head, so that the air breath-ed by the person using the device will carry the medicine to the affected organs of the body.
Vith the foregoing and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Figure 1 is a side elevational view of an inhaler constructed in accordance with the invention.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the device comprises a body portion indicated generally by the reference character 5, and
as shown the bOC y portion comprises a main curved portion 6 having an open end 7 provlded wlth a relnforclng bead 8.
Forming a part of the body portion is a pocket 9 that has inwardly curved walls 10 that partially close the opening between the main portion and pocket 9 so that a sponge or wad of cotton such as indicated at 10, will be securely held within the pocket without danger of the same becoming displaced.
Openings 11 are formed in the wall of the pocket 9, so that air may be drawn through the body portion.
It will of course be understood that the shape of the body portion is such that rounded ends are presented, the ends being designed to fit within the nostril in such a way that the device will be supported out of view, and all danger of the inhaler falling from the nostril will be obviated.
While the device is designed primarily for use in purifying or removing dust and germs from air being breathed by persons working in factories and mills, it is to be understood that the sponge or absorbent cotton held in the pocket, may be saturated with a suitable medicament, so that air drawn into the head and lungs through the device will be treated with the medicine and will possess curative qualities for the benefit of the person using the inhaler.
The inhaler is preferably constructed of thin rubber suthciently rigid to insure against the inhaler collapsing while in use.
I claim:
Ar: inhaler comprising a hollow body portion formed with parallel side walls curved to fit within the nostril of the user, one end of the body portion being open, a pocket forming a part of the body portion, the wall of the pocket being curved inwardly at a point where it merges into the body portion, providing a restricted opening, the inner end of said pocket having a plurality of openings to permit air to be drawn through the body portion, and a member formed of absorbent material positioned within the pocket and held in position by the curved wall of the pocket.
