IMPROVEMENT IN STONE-LIFTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No- 176,557, dated April 25, 1876; application filed March 25, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIDNEY E. SHEPARD, of Mineral Point, Iowa county, Wisconsin, have invented a new and Improved Stone-Lifter, of which the following is a specification:
This invention is an improvement in the class of stone-lifting apparatus in which a pair composed of two parts, 0 D, which are adjustable along each other and secured by pins E, to shift thejaws toward and from each other, to set them for stones, F, of different thicknesses. Gr represents the chains by which the long arms of the jaws are connected to the eyeplate H, to which the hoisting-chain is attached.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- In a stone-lifting apparatus, the frame composed of the curved or angular-shaped bars G D, arranged in pairs, and having a series of holes, as specified, the pins E, and eccentric pivoted gripers A A, all combined as shown and described.
