My. invention relates to an improvement in identification tags for small articles and more particularly for gloves or the like; and has for its object the construction of an identification tag which will be'fiexible, fiat and suit able to be secured insideof a glove or a similar object.

A further object is to provide a tag which will carry within itself, in addition to the name and address of the owner, postage for returning the glove'or other object when lost.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

The invention consists in the combination arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention .will best be understood by, reference to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification and in which: I

Figure 1 shows my identification tag closed and secured to a glove;

Figure 2 shows the identification tag open.

The preferred form of my invention, as is shown in the drawing, comprises a tag formed of flexible material having a body member 5, similar in shape to and slightly larger than a postage stamp. One side of the body member 5 is coated with suitable adhesive material for securing the tag to the inside of a glove or the like. On either side of said body member 5 are formed two flaps 6 and 7 upon which may be written the name and address of the owner. Flaps 6 and 7 are designed to fold across and protect a start: which is attached to the body member 5. flap 8, integral with the upper side of the body member 5, is arranged and adapted to fold over and cover the body member 5 and the flaps 6 and 7 when the latter are v 40 closed, as shown at 9 in Figure 1. The flap 8 is secured in the closed position as shown in Figure 1 by any suitable means, preferably by being afiixed to the glove around the edge by means of shellac or glue or any suitable adhesive.

In use, the tag is secured to a glove, or any small article which is likel to be lost by the owner, by means of the'ad esive on the back of the body member 5, a stamp is placed on 5 the front of the body member 5, the name and address of the owner are written on flaps 6 and 7, the flaps 6, 7 and 8 are closed and the last mentionedflap sealed around the outer edge to the glove. In case of loss by the owner, the finder breaks the seal of flap 8 and name and address but a stamp wherewith to return the glove or article to the owner.

While I have herein described and'shown a preferred form of m invention, it will be understood that some c ange in modification may be made therein; hence I do not confine myself to the precise details as set forth, but

desire to take advantage of such variation and modification as fairly fall within the scope of the appended claims.

I claim 1 4 1. An identification tag comprising a body member, a pair of foldable side flaps afiixed to twoopposite sides thereof, and adapted to fold across said body member, a cover flap on the third side thereof, means for releasably securing said cover flap over said body member and side flaps when closed, and means for securing said tag to a glove or the like substantially as described.

2. An identification tagcomprising a body member, a foldable side flap afiixed to one side of said body member and adapted to fold across said body member, a cover flap affixed to one of the remaining sides of said body member, adhesive means for releasably securing said cover flap over said body member and side flap when closed, and adhesive means for securing said tag to a glove or the like, substantially as described.
