This invention has reference to article carriers, combined change and ticket cases'or the like, the primary object ot the invention being to provide a device of this character to facilitate the making ot change and the paying of tare.

An important object ol the invention is to provide a device ot this character which may be securely held on the belt without danger oit the saine becoming accidentally displaced.

i still further object ci the invention is to so construct a carrier ot this type as to permit the tickets and change carried therein to be removed with facility.

With the -foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combifA nation and arrangement ot parts and in the details oli construction hereinafter described and claimed, itV being understood that changes in the precise embodiment ot the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Figure 1 is a view illustrating a carrier constructed in accordance with the invention as secured to a belt.

Referring to the drawing in detail, the device embodies a pair ot hingedly connected sections 5 and 6 respectively, the section 5 having .an upstanding flange 7 formed along one end thereof, and a flange 8 formed along one side, there being provided an inwardly extended tongue 9 formed integral with the flange 8, the tongue 9 being of resilient metal so that it will exert a pressure on cards or tickets held in the case.

Tabs 10 are secured within the section 5 and are arranged in pairs at points adjacent to the ends of the sections, the tabs extending upwardly and inwardly where they are disposed in spaced relation with the section to which they are securedV to accommodate the metallic plate 13 thereunder on which cards .NGE

or tickets may be readily slid and held by means of the tongue 9. A coiled-spring indicated at 12 is disposed between the section 5 and plate 1" to normally urge the plate 13 outwardly, to cooperate with the tongue 9 in clamping the tickets or cards against inovement.

A flange 11 is termed along one end ot the section 6 and is-adapted to overlap the flange 7 when the sections are moved together, to hold the sections in their closed positions.

rlfhe flange 12 which is formed at one side of the section 6 closes the carrier at one side thereof, when the sections are moved to their closed positions. r1`hus it will be seen that due to this construction, one edge ot the carrier is open at a point adjacent to the cards or tickets supported on the plate 13 so that the cards or 'tickets maybe readily slid lat erally troni the carrier.

Supported by the section 6 are the change carriers 141` which are ont the usual type, and adapted to contain coins that are slid therein. Secured to the outer surface of the section 5 and disposed adjacent to the ends thereof are loops 15, which loops are engaged by the tongue 16 forming a part of the clasp 17. This clasp 17 is `formed with a flange 18 at its lower end that has an opening to accommodate the ring 19 oit a key ring chain, which ring also passes through the opening 20 of the clasp 17 to hold the clasp to the belt on which it is positioned.

I claim: Y

1. A carrier of the class described embodying a pair of hingedly connected sections, tabs secured to one section and arranged in spaced relation therewith, a spring pressed metallic plate disposed under the tabs, a tongue overlying the plate to clamp tickets therebetween, and said sections adapted to move to engage each otherto close the carrier.

2. A carrier ol" the class described including hinged sections, each or" said sections having an end flange and a side flange, said kflanges adapted to close the sides and ends ol2 the carrier when the carrier is closed, a metallic plate supported within the carrier, a spring under the plate tor moving the plate lili) outwardly, and a tongue overlying the plate and cooperatingwith the plate infclamping articles therebetween.

3. In a carrier or the class described, a-

5 body portion including hingeclly connected sections, a plate in one of the sections, a tongue overlying the plate to grip articles between the tongue and plate, a clasp for securingthe device to a securing strap, said claspincluding ai tongue, means for re1novably securing the latter tongue to the body portion, and means for securing the clasp on a supporting strap.
