The invention possesses other objects and features of advantage, some of which, with the foregoing, will be `set forth in the fcllowing description of the preferred form of my invention f which is illustrated in the drawings accompanying and forming part of the specification. It is to be understood that l do limit myself to the showingmade by the said drawings and description, as I may adopt variations of 'the preferred f form Within the scope of my invention as set forth inthe claim.

Though a table is a necessary adjunct, particularly in the kitchen, there are times When door space is more desired than the table, hence a disappearing table is a most desirable fixture. Accordingly, l have here shown a kitchen cabinet 6 of the usual type arranged te conceal both a table 7 and` an ironing` board 8 and so arranged that either or both may be readily drawn out for use as desired. The table 7 of my invention is here shown arranged to be concealed in a` recess 9 provided in the base of the cabinet.

Hingedly. connected sections 11 and 1.2 are arranged to form the table top kwhen extended from the recess, and the outer section 12 is arranged to serve as a closure for lthe recess V9 when the table is in concealed posi-l tion. The rear section 11 is preferably supported from the bottom of the cabinet adj acent its endson links 13 pivotally secured to the section adjacent the rear edge thereof. The section 11 is preferably ofa length approximately equal to the depth of the re'- cess. and of` a Width equal to the length of the recess. Stop members 111 are provided at the ends of the recess adjacent the front edge thereof and against which the supporting links 18 are arranged to rest when the section 11 is positionedwin extreme routward position. held in ixed relation thereto by means of the fixed brace 21. The lower portion 22 of the leg 19 is hingedly secured to the upper portion of the leg and arranged to swing in* Wardly. Inward Vmovement of the leg portion 22 is here shown accomplished by means of a lever 23 pivotally mounted on the u nder side of the top section 12 and arranged to be moved through a slot 24 provided in the upperportion of the leg, a. pivoted link 26 operatively connecting' the lever 23 and leg portion 22. The lever 23 is arranged to be in its loiverniost position in the slot 24E When the leg sections are in alignment, so that upward movement ofthe lever Will cause the leg portion 22 to swing inwardly, and vice versa. Accidental displacement of the portion 22 is prevented by providing a notch 27 at the bottom of the slot 24: in which the outer end of the lever 23 is arranged to be 2 Lezasze secured when the table is extended. The top portion 12 is preferably so mounted and of such size that when the table is placed in fully folded position, the section 12 will exactly fit as a cover for the recess 9 and thus serve to conceal it.

When it is desired to place the table in concealed and inoperative position, the top section 12 is supported and the lever 23 is drawn upwardly to fold the leg section 22 inwardly. By means of substantially horizontally exerted pressure against the table top, the sections 11 and 12 are then swung horizontally inward until the section 11 is entirely within the recess 9, after which the section 12 is swung downward to close the opening of the recess, it being noted thatall other portions of the table will be thus placed in concealed position in the recess. Since the section 12 extends practically the full height of the recess, it will be noted that the table when fully extended will have a length substantially equal to the recess depth plus the recess Height thus providing a table top of comparatively large size.

In the cabinet of my invention, I also provide av horizontal recess 28 partly overlying the recess 9 in which an ironing board 29Ais arranged to be concealed and from which it is adapted to be swung horizontally to exten-d transversely of the cabinet front and parallel to the table when the latter is extended. As here shown, the ironing board is pivotally mounted in the recess andA is `provided with a support 30 pivotally secured thereto and arranged to be fixed in close relation to the under side of the board when the board is to be swung into the recess 28, which is then closed by means of a door 31.

It will now be evident that a cabinet has been provided having a disappearing table and concealable ironing board as part of the equipment thereof, these fixtures being so arranged that they may be readily used alone or in combination as may be desired. Furthermore, the table and ironing board operate in such manner that they may be readily incorporated in the usual form of kitchen cabinet without interfering with the functioning of the other members of the cabinet.

I claim:

A table arranged for concealment in a recess, comprising pivotally connected sections arranged to be folded together within or extended when positioned without the recess, a supporting member for supporting one of said sections fixed thereto and arranged to lie within said recess while the table is extended, means for supporting the other section arranged to lie without the re cess while the table is extended and comprising a leg portion iixedly secured to said latter section at substantially right angles thereto and provided with a slot, a. leg portion pivoted to the first, a lever connected to said second section and arranged to lextend through said slot and engage said first leg portion, and a link connecting said lever and second leg portion.
