SANITARY-NAPKIN H OLDEB.

This invention relates to a new and useful device in the nature of a sanitary combination bloomer such as Worn by women, particularly adapted to support a bandage.

The object of the invention is to provide a sanitary combination bloomer of novel construction and arrangement of parts, hereinafter more fully described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1, is a front elevational view of my improved sanitary combination bloomer.

Fig. 2, is a rear elevational view thereof, partly fragmentary, so as to expose the interior construction thereof.

Fig. 4, is an enlarged fragmentary detail View of the bandage supporter, illustrating in particular the means of fastening the said bandage supporter.

As here embodied my improved sanitary combination bloomers consist of a pair of bloomers such as usually worn by women, and which comprises a body member 10,

formed or cut so as to provide leg members, and extending from the front of the waist to the rear of the waist, and havingv a rear center member 11, formed or cut so as to extend from the rear lower leg portion to the rear of the said waist, and stitched or sewn to the body member 10.

The above described pair of bloomers are provided'with an elastic member 12, positioned in a space provided at the waist portion thereof, formed by turning back the said waist portion and stitching or sewing the edge thereof. Similar elastic members 13 and 14, are positioned in spaces provided at the extremit of the said leg portion, similarly provi ed therein. The above described construction being such as will provide a pair of bloomers which will fit closely to the waist and legs of the wearer, such as is customary to garments of this nature.

Ashore embodied the bandage supporter as used i'n combination with my improv device, comprises a band member 15, provided with an enlarged portion 16, at one extremity, and having attached at its other extremity a hook 17, and socket members 18 and 19, of common snap fasteners, such as usually employed in connection with gar ments. The supplementary band member 20, has attached at one extremity, an eyelet 21, and ball members 22 and 23, adapted to be engaged by the hook 17, and the socket members 18 and 19, respectively, as a means of removably attaching the band member 15, to the supplementary band member 20. The supplementary band member 20, is provided with an elastic member 24, superimposed therein, and stitched or sewn thereto. The supplementary band member 20, is provided with an enlarged portion 25, at one extremity. The above mentioned enlarged portion 16 of the band member 15, and the enlarged portion 25 of the supplementary band member 20, are stitched or sewn to the middle of the front and rear waist portion respectively. p The above described construction being such as will provide a suitable supporting means for a bandage, which is placed over the above described bandage supporter. In Fig. 6, of the accompanying drawing, I have shown an elastic member 26, superimposed in the band member 15, so as to provide a more elastic and better fitting bandage supporter.

In Fig. 7, of the accompanying drawing, I have shown a pair of elastic members 27 and 28, superimposed in the supplementary band member 20, of comparatively narrow width, so as to permit a tape member 29, somewhat longer than the said elastic members 27 and 28, to be positioned between the said elastic members 27 and 28, the above described. construction being such as will permit the tape member 29, to limit the elasticity of the elastic members 27 and 28, so as to prevent the said elastic members from becoming worthless or readily worn out.

In Figs. 8, 9, and 10, of the accompanyingf drawing, I have shown a pair of clip members 31, provided with concave upper surfaces. The clip members 31, extend transversely of the band member 15, and have attached thereto, at the extremities members 35 and 36, adapted to encircle, or

extend around the clip members 31. It should be understood that the clip members are sufliciently rigid to resist the tension of the elastic hands so as to retain the same in the shape illustrated in Fig. 8 and that the arrangement defined permits the emiloyment of elastic members which will lirmly grip a band disposed thereunder without causing a reduction in the width band 15 and the pad or bandage 37 which is dis- )oscd at its extremities under the elastic bands. The above described construction being such as will permit the extremities of the bandage 37, to be inserted under the clastic ring shaped members and 36, adjacent to the concave upper surfaces of the clip members 31, as a means of removably, securely attaching the bandage 37 to the bandage supporter. It being understood that the said clip members 31 may he slidably positioned on the said bandage supporter as may be desired.

A suitably located snap fastener 15 and supporting strap is provided such as shown at 15 to clamp and hold the band member 15 when it is not used to prevent the said band member hanging loosely in the garment.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letterslatent of the United States is as follows A bandage support comprising a crotch band adapted to be attached to the front portion of a waist band of a pair of bloomers at one end and adapted at its other end to be attached to the rear portion of said waist band, a pad comprising bandage material disposed on the upper side of said crotch band, clamping means for adjustably securing said pad to said crotch band comprising a substantially rigid member having a substantially flat bottom surface engaged against the upper side of said crotch band and an upper concave surface for receiving the end portion of said pad, and an elastic band disposed around said crotch band and said rigid member and directly attached to the latter for resiliently clamping said rigid member and the end portion of said pad to said crotch band, said resilient band and the rigid member attached thereto being slidable longitudinally of the crotch band for accommodating pads of different lengths while retaining the pad and the crotch band in spread relation.
