UNITED STATES WILHELM momma, or BERLIN, GERMANY.
INSTRUMENT FOR ELECTRIC IONIC MEDICATION.
Application filed February 10, 1927, Serial No. 167,220, and in Germany March 24, 1926.
1 This invention relates to an instrument for electric ionic medication, more particularly for use in the treatment of gonorrhea, by which during irrigation with a medicated wash the medicament-may be-caused by the iontophoretic action of an electric current to penetrate deeply into the tissues.
The instrument shown in the drawing consists of a tube a having numerous per-' forations and fitted with a valve supply I) A division wall d extends through the middle of the tube and ends in a terminal 6 for the attachment of an electric conductor. This constitutes one electrode; the other is formed by a metal plate applied in any suitable position, for lnstance 'to the abdomen. Electrolytic action causes to be treated it isprovidedin known manner with an adjustable bell g.
I claim V r I 1'. An instrument for electric ionic medication comprising a perforated tube having a regula-blei supply and outflow, a metal division walleXtending lengthwise in said tube, and. a terminal connected with said division wall.
2. An instrument for. electric ionic medication comprising a perforated tube with a closed and rounded end and with a regulable supply and outflowat the opposite 40 end, a bell slidable along said tube, a, metal division wall extending lengthwise of said tube, and a terminal connected to said wall.
7 3. An instrument for electric ionic medication comprising a perforated tube closed 5 at one end and having supply and outflow connections at the other end, a sheath of fabric upon saidvtube, a metal division wall within said tube, and a terminal attached to said division wall.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
p l/VILI-IELM RICHTER.
