WATER BAG.
Application filed September The present invention relates to improvements in douche bag, and its particular object is to provide a bag of the character described that is particularly intended to satisfy a want for a sanitary douche bag con venient for use while traveling. The principal object of the invention is to provide a bag of the character described that may be conveniently folded and re-folded so as to occupy very little space when placed in a casing. A further object of the invention is to provide a bag of the characterdescribed that resembles a ladys hand bag and may be carried about without causing embarassment. Further objects and advantages of my device will appear as the specification proceeds.
The preferred form of my invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 shows my bag flattened out and ready to be folded along suitable lines,
Figure 2 the bag ready for use in side elevation,
Figure 3 the same bag in top plan view, and
Figure l a. diamet-rical section taken along line '-t%l of Figure 1.
While I have shown only the preferred form of the invention, I wish to have it understood that various changes or modifications may be made within the scope of the claims hereto attached without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In its preferred form, my bag is made of a flat sheet of rubber or other water impervious material 1, preferably circular in form, and a covering sheet of decorative fabric, such as a cloth 2 placed below the first sheet and having its margin turned over the margin of the first sheet as shown at 3. A string or cord 4 is interlaced with the margins of the two sheetsin the manner shown in Figure 1 so that the cord or string alternately appears on top and at the bottom. In the centerof the two sheets of material is provided a suitable outlet member, such as the connecting nipple 6 adapted for connection with a rubber tube 7 at the end of which may be provided an insertion piece 8.
When flattened into the form shown "in Figure 1, my bag may be readily folded and re-folded in many different ways soas to be reduced to a package of the very smallest dimensions. To use it, a person need only 7, 1926. s'eriarm. 133,897.
pick up, any desired-number of the exposed sections of the cord 4 and the-device will automatically assume the form of a. substantially conical pouch as illustrated in Figures.
course be of less elasticity than is the im pervious sheet or layer 1, with the result that when the bag is being used the stresses due to the weight of the water and of the tubing will be borne almost entirely by the sheet By this construction, the covering sheet forms a reinforcement for the impervious sheet, which makes it possible to form the impervious sheet of softer and thinner material than would otherwise be necessary.
I claim:
1. A water bag consisting of a single flat sheet of flexible, water-impervious material, an outlet member secured'to said sheet, and means'for suspending said sheet in waterretaining position.
2. A water bag comprising a flat sheet of flexible,- water-impervious material, a connecting nipple secured to said sheet to form an outlet member, and a cord interlaced with the periphery of the sheet for suspending it in water-retaining position.
3. A water bag comprising a fiat sheet of water-impervious material, means for suspending said sheet in water-retaining position, and a flexible conduit connected adja cent the center of said sheet for dispensing the water contained in said sheet.
41-. A liquid container comprising a flat,
circular sheet of flexible, impervious material, an outlet member secured to said'sheet, a cloth covering attached to said sheet, and means engaging the periphery of said sheet for suspending it in liquid-retaining position. I
5. A water bag comprising a flat sheet of flexible water-impervious material, a flat sheet of decorative fabric overlying said first mentioned sheet, a connecting nipple secured to the centers of both said sheets,
10 said sheets in Water-retainingposition.
7. A Water bag comprising a layer of elastic, Water-impervious material, a covering layer 01' less elasticlty than the first mentioned layer, the two layers being secured together, an outlet member secured to both said layers, and means engaging both said layers for suspending them in Water-retain ing position. v a
In testimony whereof I do hereby afiix my signature. r
