IMPROVEMENT IN GUIDEATTACHMENTS FOR SEWING-MACHINE PRESSER-FEET.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent Nol61,459, dated March 30, 1875; application filed February 2, 1875.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE VINCENT, of Stockton, San Joaquin county, State of California, have invented a Guide Attachment for Sewing-Machine Presser-Feet; and I do hereby declare the following description and accompanying drawings are sufficient to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which it most nearly appertains to make and use my said invention without further invention or experiment.

My invention relates to that class of attachments for sewing-machines which are attachable directly to the presser-foot; and it consists in constructing the projection of the resser-foot with a sharp bend and the attachment with a correspondingbend, as hereinafter more fully described.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a presser-foot and attachment. Fig. 2 is a bottom view of Fig. 1.

The presser-foot D has the projecting portion A, which has at a a sharp bend. The attachment B also has a sharp or angular bend at b, and a slot, e. The angles of the bends a and b coincide. A screw, 0, and washer 01, through the slot 6, fasten the attachment to the foot.

Heretofore in attaching this class of at tachments it has been necessary to put a stop of some sort near the point of either the footproject-ion or the attachment, to prevent it from turning when in use. This I avoid by the angular turns a and b. The attachment B cannot turn when constructed so as to coincide to the sharp turn in the presser-foot projection A.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'

The presser-foot D, constructed with the sharp bend a and the screw 0, with its not cl, in combination with the attachment B constructed with the sharp bend b and slot 6, as set forth.
