Apparatus for treating wheels or the like comprising, in combination, an angularly-movable carrier, spindles each airanged to support a plurality of wheels and all journaled on the carrier, operator-'controlled means for indexing the carrier, and powered parts, spindles for the wheels journaled in said parts and projecting laterallyfrom the carrierpara'llel to the axis of the carrie'r, means at the :tree vend-.of each spindle to hold on the spindle a pluralityV of: wheels, operator-controlled power operate the carrier, and#independently-con-l trolled power mechanism to rotate the spindles.

Apparatus for treating wheels or the mechanism to like comprlsing, in combination,v an angui larly-movable carrier. having axially separated parts, spindles for thel ywheels journaled in said parts and projecting laterally from the carrier parallel to the axis-of the carriei, means at the free end' of each spindle to hold on the spindle a plurality of wheels, al housing forming an annular passageway including the vspindles and'. wheels, and meanswfor controlling the movement of the carrier to move the wheels around through the annular passageway. i'
13.1A drier comprising, in combination, an endless carrier havingarticle supports spaced about its periphery, a vhousing forming an annular passageway enclosing the supports, andv meansy for introducing heated air into said passageway including an inlet opening in the housing, thev drier being constructed and arranged to pe `mit loading ofk articles on' said supports some distance before the supports come 'opposite said inlet opening so that they will be'heated grad-A ually, and to permit unloading of the articles'fromY said supports some distance beyond said inlet opening so that the articles may first have ycooled gradually.

Apparatus comprising in combination,`a wheel-like carrier having article supports projecting from one side parallel to its axis, aplate secured to saidside of the carrier and arranged rperpendicular tol said supports at their bases, substantially cylindrical walls respectively inside and outside the supports, ,and a fixed plate oppoiis site the plate on the carrier, the two plates and the two cylindrical walls forming a substantially closed housing defining an annular chamber containing the supports.
15. Apparatus comprising, in combna- I tion, a substantially circular rotatable carrier, inner and outer circular rows of sup,-
ports on the carrier-,the supports of one row being staggered with respect to the supports of the other row,- means tocontrol the move- 10 ment of the carrier, and means for rotating the' supports simultaneously. v
