GAME.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ELMER H. HARRIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Scranton, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Game, of which the following is a specification.

This invention appertains to an improved game, which will be interesting both to young and 1d, and which can be played by a number of players simultaneously. The primary object of the invention is to provide an improved game embodying a board having a plurality of different numbers arranged thereon in aligned rows, and blocks or men adapted to be positioned upon the numbers, and a chance operated appliance for indicating which block or man is to be placed upon the numbers, the game being won when three blocks are placed upon like numbers, which are arranged in the same row.

Another prime object of the invention is to provide an improved game comprising a board having a spinning wheel mounted directly thereon provided with different numbers and a pointer and a plurality of rows of different numbers on the board corresponding to the numbers on the spinning wheel.

A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved game of the above character, which will be durable and efiicient in use, one that will be simple and easy to manufacture, and one which can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost and afford a maximum amount of amusement to the users thereof.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specificially described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which drawings:

Figure 1 is a plan view of the improved game board, and

Figure 2 is a perspective view of one of the counters or men used in the game.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the numeral 5 indicates a flat board, which can be constructed of any desired material, such as heavy cardboard or the like. This board 5 can be ornamented in any desired way to enhance the appearance thereof. The board at one side of the transverse center thereof has rotatably mounted thereon a spinning wheel 6, which can be held in place by a suitable pivot pin or rivet 7. This wheel has suitably marked on one face thereof adjacent to its periphery numbers indicated by the reference character 8. These numbers run from 1 to 3, as can be clearly seen by referring to the drawing. An indicating pointer 9 is riveted or otherwise secured to the board at one side of the spinning wheel 8 and after the wheel has been turned and the same comes to rest, the pointer indicates which number is to be played, as will become hereinafter more fully apparent as the description proceeds. The board 5 is also provided with a relatively large square 10 formed by marginal lines 11. The relatively large square 10 is divided into a plurality of smaller squares 12, by lines 13 and 14. This provides rows of blocks and each row of blocks has printed therein suitable numbers indicated by the reference character 15. These numbers extend from 1 to 3 inclusive and are repeated so that there will be three numbers of each kind in each longitudinal or transverse row. By referring to Figure 1, it can be seen that the arrangement of the numbers indicated by the reference character 15 in the blocks or squares 10, is such that certain like numbers will be arranged in diagonal alignment across the board.

A plurality of counters 16 are provided and these counters can be of any preferred shape or character. As shown the same are of a cubical configuration and each counter has a number printed thereon as indicated by the reference character 17. This number will either be 1, 2, or 3.

The object of the game is for each player to try to get three of each number in a diagonal row either way without being blocked by any other of the players. Each player is provided with fifteen counters indicated by the reference character 16. Five of the counters being numbered 1, five being numbered 2 and five being numbered 3. Each player in turn spins the wheel 6 and whatever number the indicator 9 points to, the player places that number on a corresponding number on the board. The first player that has three of each number in a row wins the game. The game is very interesting to the players in view of the fact that the players men or counters 16 will interfere with one another and thus prevent the easy placing of three like men in a row.

Changes in details may be made without departing from the spirit orthe scope of this invention.

What 1 claim as new is:

1. A game comprising a flatboard having:

a spinning wheel mounted thereon, an idicator mounted on th board for the Wheel, a plurality of rows of blocks provided with different numbers arranged on said board, the numbers 011 the spinning wheel corresponding to the numbers on the blocks, and counters numbered to correspond with the numbers on the blocks and spinning wheel adapted to be placed on said'blocks indi- 15 cated by the spinning wheel.

2, A game apparatus comprising a fiat board, a large square marked on sald board,

the square being divided into aligned rows of blocks, the numbers in said blocks arranged in different formation relative to their value, whereby a predetermined number of like numbers willbe arranged in diagonal rows, counters having diiferent numbers thereon arranged to be placed upon said squares, and a chance operated device for indicating which: number counter is to be placed upon the corresponding numbered square.
