In carrying my invention into effect, I provide a handle which is stamped or otherwise formed of any suitable material, preferably a light gauge metal, to have the general form of a loop, such as indicated at 1 in Figs. 1 and 2. The handle 1 comprises a longitudinal grip portion 2 which is adapted to be grasped in the hand, a lower bar portion 3 which is substantially parallel with the grip portion 2, and end portions H 1923. In Fig. 3, I show a holder consisting of an arcuate metal strip 8 adapted to partially encircle and .to em brace the neck of a milk bot-tle,-isuch as indicated at 9 in Fig. 1,0rlike article, The holder 8 has a lateral flange 10 formed there'- on intermediate-1y of its ends, whichflange is provided with slot 11 and is thus adapted to be hooked over the head of one ofthe T-shaped portions 6. The holder 8 willbe releasably attached to the bot-tle'9 when the ends thereof areforced toward each other so that the-holder tightly embraces thebottle neck and are secured in such position by means of a chain 12 secured at one end .to an end of the holder 8 and adapted to engage a notch 13 in the other end'of the holder. j I i I The fastening element illustrated in Fig. 41', comprises a curved plate orstrip 14E; having laterally extending ears 1515 at; the upper corners thereofand prolongations or extensions 1616 at the lower corners thereof. The prolongations or extensions 1616 are provided with openings 1717 through which a flexible suspension element, such as the chain 18, may be threaded. The ears 15-15 are provided with notches 19-19 with which portions of the chain 18 may be detachably engaged. As illustrated in Fig. 1, the chain 18 is threaded through the openings 17 17 and the ends thereof are secured together so that the chain is in effect an endless member. The fastening element 14 is curved to conform to the curvature of the neck of a bottle, such as indicated at 20. The chain 18 and the fastening member 1 1 are arranged in encircling relation to the neck of the bottle 20. The chain 18 is then drawn tightly against the bottle neck and is placed in engagement with the notches 1919. The chain 18 is then hooked over a selected one of the substantially T-shaped portions 6 and the bottle 20 will thus be suspended from the handle 1 when the latter is carried by hand. I

,In Figs. 5 and 8, I show another attaching element consisting of a hook member; 21 adapted to engage the binding cord 22 of a package, such as indicated at 28 in Fig.1. The hook member 21 has a body provided with a pair of upstanding ears 2 l2 l, each havingan opening 25 formed therethrough. The hook member 21 is suspended from the handle 1 by meansof a flexible suspension member, such as the chain 26 which has portions thereof threaded through the openings 25.

In Fig. 1, I show a jar 27 suspended from the handle 1 by means of an endless suspension chain 28 which is secured in encircling relation to the neck portion of the jar and is hooked over a selected one of the T-shaped portions 6.

It is to be observed that in each instance in which a suspension chain of the construction illustrated is used in attaching articles to the handle 1, that the portion of the chain disposed in the seats 77 will engage with the head and stem of the substan tially T-shaped portion 6 to prevent the suspension element from being accidentally detached from the handle, whilepermitting such suspension element to be disengaged from the handle readily when desired.

It will thus'be obvious that I provide a simple device for carrying a plurality of articles whereby such articles will be maintained in upright position so that the contents thereof will not be spilled.

Obviously, my invention is susceptible of embodiment in forms other than that which isillustrated in the accompanying drawings, and I therefore consider as my own,'a1l modifications and adaptations of the form of the device disclosed herein which fairly fall within the scope of the appended claims.

I claim 1. In a device of the character described, a fastening element consisting of an arc-uate strip provided intermediately with a laterally extending flange having an aper ture therein, said arcuate element having a notch in its upper edge adjacent to one end thereof, and a chain attached to the other end of the arcuate strip and adapted to engage the notch, substantially as and for the purpose described.

2. In a device of the character described, an attaching element consisting of'a plate curved to conform substantially to the curvature of a bottle neck and having prolongations at the lower corners thereof and laterally extending lug portions at the upper corners thereof, said prolongations being provided with openings through which the chain may be threaded and said laterally extending lug portions being notched and being adapted to be engaged by the chain. i

In a device of the character described, a handle comprising an upper horizont grip portion, a' lower fiat bar membericonnected at its ends to said grip portion, and suspended vertically edgewise from the grip member, substantially in parallel relationto the latter, said lower bar member being formed with a slot therein between the lower and upper edges thereof, said slot having the intermediate portion thereof extending longitudinally of the bar and'having the end portions thereof turned vertically downward and then inward toward each other to define a substantially T-shaped supporting element, the inwardly turned extreme end portions of the slot constituting sockets adapted to engage with a flexiblesuspension element whiclrhas been hooked over the T-shaped supporting element.

4. In a device of the character described, an attaching member comprising a flat body bent adjacent to one end into hook shape,

the body having a notch in the other end thereof dividing said other end portion thereof into a pair of spaced apart ears which are disposed in substantially the same plane, each of said ears having an opening therethrough, as and for the purpose described. I
