oArAMENrAL BELT.
' Application filed April 3,
T5 all whom itmay concern: Be it known that I, Annnnrinn DnLoRIs FELIATBAULT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Spokane, in the'countyof Spokane and State of Washington, have in vented certain new and 'useful- Improvements in Catamenial Beltsjjan'd'l' 'do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to an improved catamenia-l belt for supporting a sanitary napkin and one object of the invention is to provide a belt of the character described which is so constructed that it may be light to further so construct this belt that it may be formed from strips of material sewed together and providing a belt having the desired shape and permitted to fit snugly in place when in use.
Another object of the invention is to so construct this belt that it may accommodate itself to the size of the waist and at all times have the depending portions assume the proper shape.
Another object of the invention is to so construct this device that it can be very easily put in place and secured about the waist with the depending portions extending beneath the waist encircling portion at the front and back.
' This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of one form of the belt. r
Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the means for connecting the ends of the waist encircling portion at one side of the device shown in Fig. 1.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a; moditied form of the device.
The belt may be constructed as shown in Fig. 1 or it may be constructed as shown in Fig. 3. In each form, there is provided a waist encircling portion and depending strips which extend from the sides of the waist encircling portion in converging relationand have their end portions secured by stitches so that there will be provided V-shaped napkinengaging portions which extend beneath the front and rear portions of the waist encircling portion. I
In the form shown in Fig. 1, the belt is 1922.v scan No. 549,033.
formed from strips which are sewed togeth er'as' shown. The stripsl and 2 extend in crossed relation as shown at 3 and are sewed so that the strips 1 and 2 will be-provided with waist encircling portions cling portion 5 with the depending end portion 7. It will thus be seen that this belt will be .formed entirely of strips of material which may be bought in rolls and will be cut the desired length and sewed together. At the end of the waist encircling portion 4 of the strip 1,there will be provided an eye or bar 10 and at the end of the waist encircling portion 5 of the strip 2, there will be provided a hook 11 for engaging the bar '10 and thus releasably connecting the waist encircling portions 4 and-'5. The device can thus be placed about the waist and the end portions 4 and 5 releasably connected. The depending V-shaped portions formed by the strips 8 and 9 and end portions 6 and a 7 will extend in front and at the back so that the end portions of a napkin can be connected with these depending sections by means of pins 12.
In the form shown in Fig. 3, the belt will be formed fIOm two loops 13 and 14 each of which is formed from a strip having its end portions sewed together. These loops are positioned in overlapping relation as clearly shown in this figure and are sewed together as shown at 15 thus providing a waist encircling portion and depending V-shaped napkin-engaging 'portions. The loops are only connected by sewing atone side as shown at 15 and therefore when the device is to be worn, it can be slipped over the head and. arms and drawn down. about the waist. The crossed portions of the strips 13 and 14 at the opposite side from the sewed con nection 15 canthen be brought into proper crossed relation to secure the device about the waist and a safety pin 16 then put in place so that the device will fit snugly.
' nected with the depending V-shaped por tions by means of safety pins17. By ha vllO ing this device formed of loops which are sewed together at one side and pinned together at the opposite side, the device can accommodate itself to the size of the waist and therefore a certain amount of adjustment will be permitted to permit of the device accommodating itself to the size of waist about which it is secured. In each form, the pull will be evenly distributed and the device will be light and durable and will be very comfortable when 111 USP].
I claim: 7
1. A catamenial bandage support formed of connected strips providing a Waist encircling portion and depending protector engaging members positioned beneath the forward and rear portions of the waist en-' circling portion, the portlons of the strips forming the waist encircling portion being permanently connected atone side and releasably connected at the other side.
2. A catamenial bandage support formed of separate loops each tapered towards one point, the loops being positioned in crossed relation one within the other with their tapered end portions extending in opposite directions to provide opposed depending articleengaging elements and their upper portions co-operating to provide a Waistencircling portion, said loops being permanent-1y connected at one point of crossing and releaszbly connected at the other point of crossing.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand ALBERTINE DELGRIS FILIATRAULT.
