WALL or' BLooKs or woon AND sIMILAn MATERIA.
' I Specification-of replace'brick walls;l for? the purpose of quickly erecting building's and instantaneously using the same, and its'object is to provide improved means by which such walls receive a great rigidity.
Acording` to the invention, in the horizontalranges of said walls, which are joint-v ed in bondlike fashion, Vertical rows of blocks are inserted and located at uniform (listances from each other in such a vway V that each Vertical block of one row extends through one horizontal range and engages in shallow recesses of the horizontal block of the next ranges above and below said horizontal range, while vthe blooks of two adj acent Vertical rows are so located that one block of one row lies always opposite to the space between the blocks of the adjacent row. K
The Vertical rows of blocks form 'thus lparallel supports in said wall, w'hereby a great rigidity is imparted tothe latter.
In the accompa-nying drawing: Fig. 1 is a front view of a wall embodying the present invention; Figs. 2 and 3 are plan Views of two different horizontal ranges of blocks; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of vpart of the wall; Figs. 5, 6, and 7 Show the three dif- -witnesses- ENT oFF1cE- Letters Patent. designating a horizontal block, Z) the` same with a shallow recess in one horizontal side;` c a Vertical tblock.
It 'must be understood` that one horiontal i range d means not only one layer' of blocks but .also a 'plurality of directly superposed (joint-upon-joint) layers, for instance twoas shown, or three, or more. of them,` as the f case may be: *range designatlng always the height of horizontal blocks mounted in bondabove or below said range.-`
VVhat I claim, is:- j. i In a wall of blocks 'of wood and similar material7 in'combination, horiz'ontal rangesl of said blocks jointed in bondlike fashion So A like fashion with reference to the next'v'range and having shallow reoesses Vin; the `horizontal sides of some. of said blo'cks;` andkl i' vertical rows of blocks'inserted in'saidhori- (30" i other in such a way that each Vertical block f zontal ranges at uniform distan'oes from each extends through. one? horizontal range and engages in said shallow recesses of theihorii `4 i I zontal block of the next ranges abovel and, below said horlzontal range, the blocks of I two adjacentv Vertical `rows being so located that'one block of one row lies always'oppoi site to the vspace between the blocks of the,
adjacent row, substantiallyas and for the purpose seta forth, F x y In tes'timony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in :the
