To all 'whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, FRANK E. CRo'r'ro, citizen ofthe United States, residing at Dallas, in the county of Dallas and bState of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Well-Washers, of which the following-is a specification.
This invention has to do with well washers.
The object of the invention is to provide a Washer having a pair of packers' formed of fabric and arranged to be expanded afvainst the casing or screen by the pressure o thecleaning fluidvpriorvto its delivery from the washer pipe. A particular feature involves the expansion ofthe packer sleeve against spring tension and the operation of a valve collar by the sleeve to permit the discharge ofthe cleaning fluid after the sleeve has been expanded.
A construction designed to carry out the invention will be hereinafter'described together with other featuresof the invention.
The invention will be more readily understood from a reading of the following speciicationand by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which an example of the invention is shown, and wherein:

In the drawings the numeral 10 designates a section of pipe which is connected in the usual Way to the line of well pipe (not shown) extending down into the well. At the lower end of the pipe 10 a guide plug 11 is inserted. A pair of flanged collars 12 are fastened on the pipe in spaced relation and directed toward each other, the lower collar being immediately above the lu p Ogii the reduced portion of each collar the end of a fabric sleeve 13 is fastened by coils of wire 14 surrounding the same and sol-4 dered together, or any other, suitable fas- -tening may be employed to secure the sleeve. In operation the washer is lowered into the Well screen A and water or other cleaning fiuid is pumped into the pipe 10. The water discharges through the perforations 20 within the sleeves 13, those perforations within the valve collars 15 being closed.
The Water entering the sleeves expands thex same so that they are forced into contact with the wall of the screen as is shown in Fig. 3. When one of the sleeves 13 expands it pulls its collar 15 inward against the tension of its spring 16, so that when the sleeve is fully expanded the perforations 19 will register with the perforations 20; permitting the water to discharge between the sleeves and wash out the screen. When the pressure of the water is relieved the springs 16 will expand and slide the valve collars outwardly, thus retracting the sleeves and closing the perforations 20 with the collars.
The invention is presented as including all such modifications and alterations as come within the scope of the appended claims.
