To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, STANLEY PENKSA, a citizen of the United States, residing at Long Island City, in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shipping- Tags, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in shipping tags and has for its object to provide a duplex tag.

Another object of the invention is to provide a reinforced duplex tag.

A further object of the invention is to provide a shipping tag having eyes at two ends thereof, whereby the tag may be secured closely against a package.

With the above and other objects in view, which will hereinafter more fully appear, I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which- Figure 1 shows a pattern upon which my ta is made,

which the corners 7 and 8 of the other half 9 fold. Alining eyelets 10 and 11 are provided 011 the ends of the tag and similar alining openings 12 and 13 are provided adjacent said fold 3. The object of prov1ding these eyelets at both ends of the tag 18 in order that the tag may be tied closely against any package upon which it is to be used, cords for this purpose being threaded through the eyelets at both ends of the tag and tied around the package. One purpose of providing the two members 14 and 15 1s that a double address may be placed on the tag, one on the outer surface 16 of the member 141 and another on the inner surface 17 of the member 15 so that if in transit the normally exposed address should be destroyed or defaced the member 14 may be removed as indicated in Fig. 3, leaving the address on surface 17 exposed. Another purpose of having the tag in duplicate is that directions or instructions may be printed on the surface 17 which may be quickly disposed after a package containing the tag reaches its destination.

In Fig. 5 I show a modified form of my invention in which the tagis formed of two independent members 18 and 19, one of said members having its end 20 beveled at 21 and 22, and the other of which has its cor- 11ers 23 and 24; folded over said beveled portion. The other ends 25 and 26 of these members may be held together by means of eyelets 27 and cords 28 passing through alining openlngs 29 and 30, respectively, of said members, or an attaching cord 31 may be passed through the eyelets 32 and tied in position, as indicated at 33, before being attached to a package.

Having now described my invention that which I claim is new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is:

1. A shipping tag comprising two duplicate parts, one of which is provided with beveled portions at its free end and the other aving corners on its free end bent over said beveled portions.

2. A shipping tag comprising two duplicate parts, one of which is provided with beveled portions at its free end and the other having corners on its free end bent over said beveled portions, said parts being connected at the other ends.

3. A shipping tag comprising two duplicate parts, one of which is provided with beveled portions at its free end and the other having corners on its free end bent over said beveled portions, said parts being connected at the other ends, connections at each of the corners of said other ends.

4. A shipping tag formed in duplicate and connected together, said tag being formed of a longitudinal member folded upon itselfto provide said duplicate parts, eyes provided at both ends of said tag, one of said duplicate parts having bevels formed on one end thereof and the other of said parts having its corners folded over said beveled portions.

5.
