To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EDWARD S. KEARN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lakewood, in the county of Snohomish and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle- Suspending Hooks, of which the following is a specification.

The object of this invention is the provision of hook devices arranged to be detachably connected to the neck of a bottle for supporting the latter by engaging in a tree or other object. The device embodying the present invention is primarily designed for use upon a bottle containing oil employed in lubricating cross-cut saws such as utilized in the felling of trees or cutting fallen trees into saw logs, etc.

The invention consists in a bottle-neck clamping collar, one element of which comprises an arm integral with a hook-shank, the other element being hingedly connected to said shank, and in the novel means for the clamping elements to a bottle.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of a device constructed in accordance with this invention shown applied to a bottle, the lower end of the bottle being broken away; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the device shown detached; and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the members of my invention.

Referring to the drawings, throughout which like reference numerals designate like parts, the numeral 5 designates the bill of a hook provided with a sharp point 6, and 7 is the hook shank. Formed integral with or rigidly connected to the lower end of said shank is an arcuate shaped arm 8 termi nating in a bifurcated extremity 8. 9 represents an arcuate shaped arm having at one end a loop 10 pivotally engaging the shank part 11 between the aforesaid arm 8 and an annular shoulder 12 provided on said shank.

14 is a nut that is adapted to be screwed onto the threaded part 13 to clamp the arms 8 and 9 tightly about the neck of a bottle 15 as shown in Fig. l. The arm 9 is arranged in such relation with respect to the hook bill 5 to cause the latter to protrude in a substantially radial direction from a bottle when the device is clamped thereto.

The bottle 15 containing the lubricating oil is desirably provided with a stopper 16 having peripheral slots 17 through which oil may be discharged in small quantities onto the saw without removing the stopper.

Then the bottle is not used to apply the lubricant, the point of the hook may be inserted into the bark of a tree for the purpose of holding the sition within convenient reach ator.

It is obvious that changes in the precise form of construction of this device may be resorted to within the scope of the following claims.

What I claim, is

A device of the class described comprising a hook that is pointed at one end, a curved arm fixedly mounted on the other end of said hook and extending outwardly therefrom, said curved arm having a bifurcated end, another curved arm pivotally mounted on said hook and adapted to cooperate with said first named curved arm to clamp a circular body, a threaded end on the last named arm adapted to extend through the bifurcated end of the first named arm, and a nut for said shank.
