To all whom it may concern: v

Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. IHART, Jr.,a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Toy MoneyeBox or Savings- Bank, of which-the following is a specification. "if? L a My invention consists'of a toy money box or saving bank of paper'-or"other-material having its sides and bottom formed each of double walls, the sides having inlets leading to the spaces betweenv their double walls, and the bottom having members adapted to be tuckedor fitted one into the other and secured, thus closing saidfbottom, thus preventing the escape or abstraction of the money or coin through the bottom'andsides, said sides and folded'in fiat condition,- a-ll as-will behereinafter more fully described. Referring to the drawings 1 designates the toy money box or bank nominated as a mite box constructed inaccordance with my invention, the same being form and having double side walls 2, accessbetween which is had through the openings or inlets 3 in the outer walls thereof, the box or bank having a bottom 4 which is composed of opposite flat tubular members 5 and 6 which are adapted to be tucked into each other telescopically, thus closing said bottom, whereby the money or coin cannot drop out escape through, or be bottombeing adapted to*be sotha-tsa1dre1nforced piece 9 presents no plan sometimes de- Patented Apr. 18, 1916.

In the underside of; the bottom 4 is a crease line 7 by which said bottom may be folded upwardly be- 'tweenthe side walls 2 of the box, and at the top of the box is the crease line 8 which forms a hinge for said side walls 2 at said top, permitting said walls to be folded toward each other withthe folded bottom l between the same, whereby the box is flat or in knocked down condition, as shown in Fig.-. 3. To the inner faces of the outer walls 20f the'box is secured the piece 9 of comparatively stiff paper or cardboard, forming reinforces for said walls. The center of said'piece 9 has on it the crease 10 in harmony with the crease line or hinge 8, at the top of the box, so as to fold with said box, said center having also in it, the opening 11 which is in communication with the inlets 3 formed. Said piece is creased in longitudinal direction by the lines 13, and in trans-- verse'direction by the lines 14 and 15, and the central line 8, said lines 8, 15 and 14 crossing the lines 13, said line 8 forming the "crease line or hinge at the top of the box when made up.

When the box is made up, the crease lines 15 forms the folding crease line 7 in the bottom of the box. See Figs. 1 and 3.

In setting up the box, the sides of the paper or material are folded inwardly on the crease lines 13 one overlapping the other and being gummed together, thus forming the inner members of the s1de walls 2, and a fiat tubular shape as in Fig. 5, where a portion of one of said members is broken away to show some of the gum or adhesive material which is employed to unite the contiguous members at the overlap said members thus being closed preventing subsequently the money or coin from escaping through or being abstracted atthe sides of said members. The ends of the paper are now folded inwardly on the inner members of the side walls 2, thus producing the tubular members 5 and 6 of the bottom 4. Then the side walls are folded partially toward each other on the top line 8, and the members ,5 and 6 are tucked one into the other,
