Application filedl December 23, 1913. $eria1 No. SOBALM.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that T, CLARENCE W. HEN- DERSON, a subject otthe King of Great 'Bl'lli'.
any preferred part of a bedstead, the object being to provide alight for reading or other purposes which may be readily attached Without special construction or disfigurement of the bedframe.
The invention may be said briefly to consist of a lamp hanger formed from a single length of wire bent to substantially the form of a W with its middle member adapted to afi'ord a seat for the lamp socket while ,the ends are curved in the form of hangers.
For full comprehension, however, of my invention reference must be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part or this specification in which similar reference characters indicate the same parts, and
wherein:
Figure 1 is a detail elevation of the portion of a bedstead with my improved bracket hung thereon; Fig. 2 is a perspective View of the attachment removed; and
Fig. 3 is a detail view of the bracket alone.
My improved attachment -consists of a single piece of Wire I) bent to present the form of a W with extended ends, the latter 'beingcurved to form hooks c and the middle member of the W being twisted as at d for reinforcement purposes while its upper end is made in the form of a loop 6 form-.
ing a seat for the lamp. I
In assembling my improved attachment the lamp socket f is secured rigidly in the seat 6, a flexible extension wire 9 having plug is at its end serving to effect electrical connection between the socket f and any available lamp socket or the like in the room. The object of the bends m is to provide feet affording extended bearings to rest on any available member of the bed-frame and thus maintain the attachment in" uertical position. The wire is more or 'lessfiexible and permits of the hooks being bent to fitany portion of the bed-frame.
What I claim is as follows 1. A portable fixture for hanging an electric lam from a bedstead consisting of a single piece of wire bent to the form of a W with the middle member of the W reinforced and presenting a seat constructed and arranged to inclose and retain the lamp socket.
2. A portable fixture for detachably connecting an electric lamp to a bedstead consisting of a single piece of wire bent to the form of a W with elongated ends such ends being of hook form and the middle member being twisted for reinforcement purposes while its upper end is made in the form of a loop forming a seat for the lamp.
3. A portable fixture for detachably connecting an electric lamp to a bedstead consisting of wire bent to the form of a W with elongated ends such ends being of hook form and the middle member being twisted for reinforcement purposes While its upper end is made in the form of a loop forming a seat for the lamp. 7
In testimony whereof I have'signed my name to. this specification in the presence of two witnesses.
