Definitions

  • My invention relates to an article of confectionery adapted more particularly to the use of druggists. It is the custom of the latter to surround with an outer covering of pleasantlyflavored confectionery an inner drug or compound designed to affect beneficially the throat or stomach. They have hitherto found it eX- pensive to prepare this outer covering themselves, and yet cannot always have their contracts iilled by the confectioner at the time or in the manner desired. I propose, therefore, to prepare a caramel or other pleasantly-tasted bon-bon with an irregular concavity in the A center, for the reception and firm retention of the desired drug or compound. This is first crystallized and then sold as an article of manufacture to the druggist. The latter mixes the substance which contains the desired medical property with sugar or other substance, brings it into a plastic state, and easily inserts itinto the cavity of the open-topped shell.

This is first crystallized and then sold as an article of manufacture to the druggist. The latter mixes the substance which contains the desired medical property with sugar or other substance, brings it into a plastic state, and easily inserts itinto the cavity of the open-topped shell.
