PERSPIRATION-EBAND FOR, HEAD-GEAR.

To all 'whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CARL ALEXANDER, a citizen of the German Empire, residing at Barmen, in the Provinceof Rhenish Prussia and Kingdom of Prussia, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Perspiration-Bands for Head-Gear, of which the following is a specification.

The subject-matter of the present application is a perspiration-band for head-gear.

The perspiration-band according to the present invention consists of a woven, braided or similarly formed hollow strip band or tape, the back of which consists of a single thin layer, and the front of which is provided with one or more layers of material capable of absorbing perspiration. Itis to be understood that the front is the side `which comes into contact with the head.

In order to aid in the attachment of the hollow tape to the head-gear, it is preferably provided at-its lower edge with a. spe- .cial attachment strip, with the aid of which it can be sewn on. To the lower edge of this strip a cord-edge may suitably be added. Further, in order to aid the hollow band to maintain its shape a suitable stiifening is preferably inserted.

One embodiment of the invention is represented by Way of example in the drawing in which- Figure l is a front elevation, and Fig. 2 a section on the line A--A Fig. l.

In the example illustrated the perspiration-band consists of a hollow band or tape c the back part of which is formed merely of a single thin layer of-fabric, and the front part of which, on the contrary, is formed of a double layer of fabric, the outer thicker layer of which consists of material capable of absorbing perspiration. In order to aid the attachment of the band to the head-gear, the hollow tape is provided at its lower-edge with a special iirm attachment strip d to the lower edge of which a special cord-edge c is added. A. .perspiration-band for head-gear` comprising a hollow tape of textile material, the back of'which consists of a single thin layer and the front of'which comprises one or more layers of material capable of absorbing perspiration, and a perforated .stiifening inside said tape. 4. A perspiration-band for head-gear comprising a hollow tape of textile material,

the back ofl which consists of a single thin layer and the front of which comprises a greater thickness of-material capable of absorbing perspiration, and a stiiening inside said tape, and a special attachment strip at the lower edge of said tape.

5. A perspiration band for head gear consisting of a stiffening strip of perforated impregnated paper and a tube of textile fabric inclosing the same, the said tube being thicker and more absorbent on the inner side than on the outer side, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

6. A tubular perspiration band provided' with an absorbent inner face and an interior stiiiening device of impregnated paper.
