Description
- The invention is related to an exercise bike for pedaling in the supine position, in which the pedals are placed in vertical, in the upper position and perpendicular to the horizontal plane on which is placed, in the supine position, the user. In the field of exercise equipment for physical therapy are known exercise bikes and ergometers in which the ride is done while sitting on a saddle. The user is then placed in higher position with respect to the pedals. Are also known other types of exercise bikes, such as those referred to as stationary bike recumbent in which the pedals are at the hips level with the pedaling performed in a sitting position, placing itself in a seat integrated with the bike. Were also made to use exercise bikes to bed, but this type of bike is to be considered belonging to the class of stationary bikes recumbent, needing to raise the bed to a chair and be done with the ride height of the hips. Unfortunately, the known types of exercise bikes can not be used by people who can not stay in a sitting position, either on a saddle than on a seat or a raised bed, as patients with back problems, with chronic spinal cord, prostate, in coma or in general forced to stand in the supine position. The sitting position and the pedals are placed under or at the same height of the hips therefore do not permit to use a stationary bike to a large series of individuals. These disadvantages are overcome by the exercise bike to be the subject of invention that the user puts his back against the bed or floor and horizontally with the ride on the high position higher than the hips. Pedaling with your legs higher than the upper body also involves several advantages, such as improving blood circulation and lymph flow.
- The work of the legs in high position in fact favors venous return and lymphatic drainage. In the movement are also to be used the abdominal muscles, especially in the use with parallel pedals; through the latter mode is also obtained a gentle mobilization of the spine sacral. The use of the stationary bike object of invention is particularly suitable for people with poor circulation in the legs, as people with heart failure or those who suffer from low blood pressure. The position with the legs placed higher than the heart reduces the risk of collapse. Another advantage provided by the invention is constituted by the fact of being able to be used by sportsmen for relaxing limbs favoring the flow of blood after the effort. The invention is vertically adjustable in function of the length of the limb and horizontally to allow for adjustment of inclination of the legs to your chest. The full modulation of the axes of movement and cycling thus involves a use in rehabilitation and sport. The invention is in fact customizable depending on the physique that in the functional limitations of the user. The stationary bike for pedaling with legs in the vertical, with the complete adaptability to the user, has a pedaling personalized and modulated with the respect of movements is not painful and with the advantage of being able to adjust the amplitude of the movement according to the requirements given by the pathology. The invention can also be used for the upper limbs to ride with their arms, under the complete adaptability to the length of the limb. The exercise bike can be used whether in bed or on the floor with working mode active, passive or mixed, with the possibility of inclusion of an engine. The ability to use the invention without having to move or lift the user finds application in health care with patients in motor hypofunction. The rehabilitation with active movement and / or passive can be performed in the position of complete safety, even with other machines applied to the patient, as for example in the case where it is desired to make an electrocardiogram under stress on patients under the particular conditions. The exercise bike object of invention active mode of operation and / or passive also prevents the calcification of the joints and allows for faster rehabilitation, executable in bed without medical staff constantly present. The use of the invention also allows you to manage painful conditions of the osteoarticular system. The complete adaptability of the movement allows the pedal to be customized and modulated as a function of the disease, with the advantage of being able to appreciate the improvements through changes in adjustment over time. The exercise bike object of the invention is also easy and inexpensive to manufacture. These and other advantages and objects of the invention are evident from the following detailed description of an embodiment of preferred but not exclusive, with reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate by way of non-limiting the exercise bike according to the invention. In particular to
Figure 1 of thesheet 1 is given perspective view of the invention with flywheel placed at the base.Figure 2 of thesheet 2 is perspective view of an embodiment with the flywheel placed in upper position.Figures 3 and 4 of thesheet 3 are respectively a side view and perspective view of the invention applied to a read and used on the ground with parallel pedaling walk. The stationary bike for pedaling with legs in the vertical is formed by atubular frame 1 with C-shape, with the ends a crossflat frame 2, fixed to theframe 1 with tubular connecting means, such as bolts. Thetubular frame 1 can be equipped feet to prevent tipping. On the opposite side to thecross member 2 and this flat projecting atubular element 3, on which is set to atelescopic arm 4 ally adjustable, constituted for example with atubular element 5 of the same shape of the underlyingtubular element 3 and such as to be able to slide and move of said tubular element 3.The present laterally throughholes 6 on both thetubular elements pin 7 to be placed in one of theholes 6 according to the height of thetelescopic arm 4 request. Thetubular element 5 has the form at anangle 8. At the other end of thetubular element 5 there are further lateral 9. Inserted through holes inside thetubular element 5, the other extreme with respect to that in which was inserted thetubular element 3, there is another elementtubular member 10, with such size and shape that it can slide and move inside thetubular element 5. Also in thistubular element 10 are present laterally throughholes 11 in which to place apin fastener 12 in the throughholes telescopic arm 13 horizontally adjustable. The invention is therefore constituted by twotelescopic arms angle 8. End of thetubular element 10 there is a throughhole 14 in which are fixed the support devices of thepedals 15 and the group of transmission of themotion 16, in a manner known to the skilled in the sector. This group of transmission ofmotion 16 includes a flywheel 17conneted to thetransmission belt 18,crown 19 and belt tightener20. These elements connect theflywheel 17 at the base of the invented object. Theflywheel 17 is disposed on apin 21 within asupport body 22, consisting for example of the sliding sleeve and shiftable vertically on thetubular element 3, to enable thetransmission belt 18 to automatically adjust to various settings in vertical and horizontal of thetelescopic arms drive belt 18, because raise or lower the supportingbody 22 with thepin 21 of the axis of rotation of theflywheel 17. Thebelt 18 is then instantaneously stretched by the weight of the flywheel itself, free to move vertically through thesupport body 22 sliding on thetubular element 3. Once the proper height is found a fastening system can stop thesupport body 22 to thetubular element 3. In another embodiment of the invention the flywheel can be placed on top, with pin attached to thetubular element 5, withbelt 18,crown 19 andbelt tightener 20 arranged at the top of the verticaltelescopic arm 13. In the further embodiment, particularly suitable for flywheels as light as flywheels aerodynamic drag or resistance to disturbance, the flywheel can be placed directly to thepedals 15 without the group of transmission ofmotion 16. Thepedals 15 can also be arranged in the same direction to pedal with both feet parallel, as well as a pedal can be removed for pedaling with only one limb. The resistance applied to the flywheel can be of any kind, or to magnetic resistance, electrical induction, to drag or friction. In a technically equivalent form the length in the vertical and horizontal of thetelescopic arms transom 2 and adjusts the height of thetelescopic arm 4 depending on the length of the limb. By varying the length of thetelescopic arm 13 it can be adjustable the tilt of the limbs with respect to the trunk. By placing the limbs in vertical the user can then ride the exercise bike object of invention for physiotherapy or exerciser. The use may provide an auxiliary engine to facilitate the ride or to make active or passive sessions mobilization-assisted. The invention is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all within the inventive concept. All the details can be also replaced with other technically equivalent without departing from the field of protection of the following claims.
