- The controller may control the image display operation of the display panel based on a motor driving signal for operating the driving motor.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the reel apparatus may further includes: a plurality of slot members which are respectively mounted to the plurality of the reels so as to rotate together with the plurality of the reels and are arranged along a circumferential direction; a plurality of light generators which emit respectively light selectively passing through the slots depending on rotation position of the slot member; and a plurality of light receivers which are respectively disposed opposite to the light generators so as to receive light emitted from the light generator and having passed through the slots. The controller may receive the motor driving signal and a signal representing the number of detection of light detected by the light receiver and may control the image display operation of the display panels based on the received signals.
- In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the reel apparatus may further includes: a plurality of slot members which are respectively mounted to the plurality of the reels so as to rotate together with the plurality of the reels and are arranged along a circumferential direction; a plurality of light generators which emit respectively light selectively passing through the slots depending on rotation position of the slot member; and a plurality of light receivers which are respectively disposed opposite to the light generators so as to receive light emitted from the light generator and having passed through the slots. The controller may receive a signal representing the number of detection of light detected by the light receiver and may control the image display operation of the display panels based on the received signal.
- The display panel may have a curved shaped responding to a shape of the reel strip.
- According to the present invention, instead of providing a plurality of display panels for each reel, one fixed display panel is provided for each reel, and images displayed on the display panel rotates at the same speed with the rotation speed of the reel, so each reel requires only one display panel and thereby a manufacturing cost can be reduced. Further, since the display panel is fixed rather than rotating together with the reel, the display panel can be prevented from being damaged by rotation and durability deterioration can be prevented.

controller 211 for controlling operation of thedisplay panel 210. Thecontroller 211 may be a conventional controller for controlling a display panel, and separate controllers may be provided forrespective display panels 210 or onecontroller 211 may separately control the plurality of thedisplay panels 210. Hereinafter, for ease of description, a case that onecontroller 211 controls the plurality of thedisplay panels 210 will be explained. - The
controller 211 controls image display operation of therespective display panels 210 to rotate at the same speed corresponding to the rotation speed of thereel strip 221. At this time, thecontroller 211 receives a signal representing the rotation speed of thereel strip 221 and controls image display operation of thedisplay panels 210 based on the received signal. - That is, the
controller 211 detects the rotation speed of therespective reel strips 221 in real time, and controls image display of thedisplay panel 210 such that image of thedisplay panel 210 rotates at the same speed. - Hereinafter, referring to
FIG. 4 , a method for controlling image display of thedisplay panels 210 by thecontroller 211 will be explained. - First, a motor driving signal (e.g., a pulse signal) which is output to control operation of the driving
motor 400 by amotor controller 403 for controlling operation of the drivingmotor 400 may be a signal representing the rotation speed of thereel strip 221, and thecontroller 211 may receive the motor driving signal of themotor controller 403 and may control image display of thedisplay panels 210 such that image of thedisplay panels 210 rotate at the same speed with the rotation speed of thereel strip 221. That is, by synchronizing rotation speeds of an image displayed on thedisplay panel 210 and thereel strip 221 such that image displayed on thedisplay panel 210 which is fixed at a predetermined position rotates at the same speed with the rotation speed of thereel strip 221 which actually rotates, an effect that the fixeddisplay panel 210 seems to rotate together with thereel strip 221 can be obtained, so without rotating thedisplay panel 210 images may be seemed to rotate. - Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, the
controller 211 may control image display of thedisplay panel 210 such that an image displayed on thedisplay panel 210 rotates at the same speed with the rotation speed of thereel strip 221 based on a signal of a sensor instead of a motor driving signal. - For this, the reel apparatus may include a plurality of
slot members 500, a plurality oflight generators 610, and a plurality oflight receivers 620. Theslot member 500, thelight generator 610, and thelight receiver 620 are respectively provided with the same number as that of thereel 220, and are mounted forrespective reels 220. - First, the
slot members 500 are respectively mounted to thereels 220 so as to rotate at the same speed with therespective reels 220. For example, theslot member 500 may have a member having a circular ring shape which is fixed to thereel drum 223. - The
slot member 500 has a plurality ofslots 501 which are arranged along a circumferential direction. Theslot 501 may have various shapes, and may be formed in a shape in which an outer side is closed instead of being opened as shown in the drawing. - The
light generator 610 may be realized as any light generating device which may emit light, and thelight receiver 620 may be realized as any device which receives light and outputs a corresponding signal. - The
light generator 610 and thelight receiver 620 are fixed to predetermined positions rather than rotating together with thereel 220. For this, thelight generator 610 and thelight receiver 620 may be mounted to the side wall 310 of thesupport frame 300 or thesupport member 307. For example, as shown in the drawing, thelight generator 610 and thelight receiver 620 may be fixed to thesupport member 307 by a connectingmember 330. - At this time, the light generator 601 is disposed such that light emitted therefrom can selectively pass through the
slot 501 depending on rotation position of theslot member 500. That is, thelight generator 610 may be disposed in the vicinity of theslot member 500 and at the same vertical level of a rotation trace of therotating slots 501. Accordingly, as theslot member 500 rotates, in case that theslot 501 locates at the same vertical position with thelight generator 610, light emitted from thelight generator 610 passes through theslot 501 and goes forward, and in case that the blocked portion between theslots 501 locates at the same vertical position with thelight generator 610, light emitted from thelight generator 610 is blocked by theslot member 500. - The
light receiver 620 is disposed opposite to thelight generator 610 so as to receive light emitted from thelight generator 610 and then having passed through theslot 501 of theslot member 500. That is, thelight generator 610 and thelight receiver 620 are disposed to face each other on both sides of the rotation trace of theslots 501 of theslot member 500. - The
controller 211 may receive a signal representing the number of detection of light detected by thelight receiver 620 and may control image display of thedisplay panel 210 based on the received signal. That is, by using information on distance between theslots 501 of theslot member 500 which are stored in a memory and the number of detection of light which passes through theslot 501 and is detected by thelight receiver 620, rotation position and a rotation speed can be known and thedisplay panel 210 can be controlled such that image of thedisplay panel 210 rotates at the same speed of the rotation speed of thereel 220 based on these information. - Although it has been explained that the image display of the
display panel 210 is controlled based on the motor driving signal or the signal of thelight receiver 620, image display of thedisplay panel 210 can be controlled by using both of the motor driving signal and the signal of thelight receiver 620. For example, thecontroller 211 controls image display of thedisplay panel 210 basically based on the motor driving signal of the drivingmotor 400 for rotating thereel 220, and may auxiliary use the signal of thelight receiver 620. For example, in case that there are errors between position and rotation speed of thereel 220 which are determined by the motor driving signal and the real position and rotation speed thereof, the determination on whether there are these errors can be made according to whether the rotation speed of thereel 220 obtained by the motor driving signal is different from the rotation speed obtained from the signal of thelight receiver 620. If there is an error, thecontroller 211 may control image display of thedisplay panel 210 based on the signal of thelight receiver 620. - While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be practical exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
