Abstract
Description
- The present disclosure relates in general to purses and travel accessories and in particular to a configurable purse to be worn in different manners. The purse of the present disclosure is particularly useful in general to excursionists and in particular to motorcyclists.
- Portable purses are familiar accessories of great utility for carrying money purses, key holders, personal documents, spectacles, cellular phones and other small personal objects, which otherwise would have to be carried in available pockets of one's clothing, usefulness or indispensability increases with the summer and/or leisure apparels.
- There are in commerce innumerable models of purses of different sizes, typically hanged to a shoulder strap of textile or leather, sworn along the flanks of the purse or connected to it by clasps connected to side rings or loops.
- In motorcycling and more in general in sport or leisure excursionism activities, there are recurrent requirements of carrying documents small personal objects in a wearable container in order to have them always available even during overnight stops or other needs, for which the common shoulder strap purses are not satisfactory from an ergonomic point of view as well as for intolerability of swings and oscillations to which they may be subject during travel. For these activities have been studied special purses provided with belts adapted to wear them tightened around a leg to prevent oscillations and be ergonomically adapt for reaching for the content with a single hand even while riding.
- However, when moving from a locality to another where to take a new prolonged stop and eventual lodging for the night, when touring cities, museums, attending convivial meetings and the like, often changing wearing apparels, the need of a purse more suited to these social events re-presents itself. Even if provided with a quickly applicable shoulder strap, the adjustable belts for fastening around a leg must be folded and in some manner restrained or strapped to each other in order to give a "city look" to the purse. Fruibility and aesthetic of such leg "purses" when used as normal purses for strolling city walkways are rather poor.
- The novel purse of the present applicant satisfies effectively all these different requirements by providing a easily and quickly configurable purse depending from the manner in which it must be worn, typically around a leg, at a waist band or hanging from a shoulder strap.
- The purse of the present disclosure is therefore capable of assuming a functional and aesthetical shape perfectly suited to the manner in which it must be used, while ensuring in any configuration an excellent specific functionality and pleasantness of aspect as if it were made for that specific use.
- Functional parts for reconfiguring the purse, when not in use, may be orderly stored out of sight in a dedicated pocket of the purse which remains thus ready to be reconfigured for any different necessity to wear it.
- The invention is defined in the annexed claims the content of which is intended to be integral part of this specification and here incorporated by express reference.
- The different aspects and advantages of the novel purse of this disclosure will become evident through the following description of an exemplary embodiment, making reference to the attached drawings wherein:
-
Figure 1 is a general view from the rear of a configurable purse according to an exemplary embodiment; -
Figure 2 is a general front view of the configurable purse ofFig. 1 ; -
Figure 3 is a general front view with lifted up folding flap closure; -
Figure 4 is a side view of the purse showing the manner of removing detachable side wings for strapping it around a leg, when not being used; -
Figure 5 shows the neat and orderly aspect that is assumed by the purse after detaching the side wings; -
Figure 6 shows how the purse may be protected by an impermeable cap with elastic hem, applicable over the purse for protecting it from the rain and splashes when riding. - The following detailed description of an exemplary embodiment of the novel purse of this disclosure and the drawings (
Figures 1-6 ) to which it refers, have exclusively an illustrative purpose and should not be intended as limiting the scope of protection as defined in the annexed claims, being the purse of the present disclosure able to be made in shapes and materials even different from the described embodiment, though implementing the same devices of configurability of the present disclosure. - In the shown embodiment, the purse in its whole is indicated with 1 and is equipped with a
shoulder strap 2, adjustable by a means of acommon terminal slider 3 and ofend clasps 4 for connection to side rings or loops of the purse. - In the shown embodiment, the
purse 1 and theshoulder strap 2 may be of textile fabric or of natural leather or artificial leather or have a mixed composition with parts in textile fabric and parts in leather or artificial leather. - In the shown example, the rear part or
panel 5, the front part orpanel 6, the bottom part or panel 7 as well asflap closure 8 folding over thefront part 6 may be made with a single strip of textile material, leather or artificial leather, sewn to two lateral parts orpanels folding flap closure 8. - Along the joining lines between the
rear panel 5 and thelateral panels sewn zipper parts - To the
zipper parts detachable side wings purse 1 around a leg. - To the
rear panel 5 is applied a loop 23b adapted to suspend the purse, eventually after having been freed of thedetachable side wings - As depicted in
Fig. 5 , thepurse 1, freed of both theside wings shoulder strap 2 clasps may be locked with respective loops orrings 23 and 24, commonly applied onto the opposite flanks of the purse, such to make the purse comfortably wearable and of aspect indistinguishable from that of traditional shoulderable purses. - According to a preferred embodiment, the two
detachable side wings detachable shoulder strap 2, when not being used, for example, when the purse is worn hanging from a waist belt using theloop 23, may be stored out of sight in a dedicated compartment or pocket of the purse itself such to remain always available to be applied to the purse for a changed need of wearing it differently. - Optionally, such a compartment usable for orderly storing the
side wings shoulder strap 2 when not used, may be a bottom pocket or inner false bottom receptacle, accessible through a perimetral zipper, preferably external, or alternatively, as in the embodiment shown, one ormore pockets front panel 6 of the purse, to be eventually hidden by thefolding flap closure 8. - Optionally, the false bottom receptacle or a pocket dedicated to store the side wings and the shoulder strap may even accommodate a foldable light weight cap of plastic film or impermeable fabric to be placed onto the purse for shrouding it from rain and splashes when riding or walking in the open.
- In the exemplary embodiment depicted in
Fig. 6 , asimple cap 27, withhem 28 provided with an elastic, may be applied over the purse for shrouding it from rain and splashes when riding on a motorcycle or trekking with the purse tightened around a leg. - A configurable purse for different ways of wearing it, while preserving in any mode of use a structure and aspect perfectly coherent, both from the ergonomical- functional and from an aesthetical point of view, makes the novel purse of the applicant outstandingly useful in changing situations.
