Abstract

The present invention relates to a containment assembly, for example a wine bottle, provided with a primary label (3) bearing product information (6) and a secondary label (4) comprising a detachable portion (5) bearing at least part of the product information (6).

Description

  • The present invention relates to a containment assembly comprising a container, at least one primary label and at least one secondary label.
  • It is common for containers, for example, of liquids of various types, but also for powders (flour) or gels (jams), to show on a label for the purpose, various information such as the manufacturer's, factory and/or product brand, the expiry date and the nature of the contents, recommendations and warnings regarding the consumption/use of the product, as well as the price, often in the form of a barcode.
  • Usually such information is divided or repeated on two different labels, one of which is placed on the container so as to face the customer when in its normal position on the shelves, while the other is placed at the back or on the bottom of the same.
  • This is how it happens that a consumer, who is satisfied with the product after having tried it, and who wishes to purchase it again, finds him/herself in the inconvenient position of having to write at least some of the aforementioned information on a piece of paper, or on whatever is to hand at the time.
  • Such a situation is even more obvious when the consumer is in a public venue, for example at the restaurant, where often neither pen nor paper is available, and he/she wishes to write down the name, for example, of a good wine. The present invention sets out therefore to overcome the drawbacks referred to in the technical note, and especially those mentioned above.
  • Such objective is achieved by means of a containment assembly conforming to claim 1.
  • It will also be seen how further benefits may be obtained by means of the supplementary features of the dependent claims.
  • The present invention will be described below with the help of the relative illustration plates which show:
  • - figure 1, a front view of the containment assembly which the present invention relates to, according to a possible form of embodiment;
  • - figure 2, a rear view of the containment assembly of figure 1;
  • - figure 3, a detail of the containment assembly according to a possible form of embodiment
  • - figure 4, a detail of the containment assembly according to a second possible form of embodiment;
  • - figure 4a, a first enlarged detail of figure 4;
  • - figure 4b, a second enlarged detail of figure 4;
  • - figure 5, a detail of the containment assembly according to a further possible form of embodiment.
  • With reference to the attached figures, the containment assembly which the present invention relates to comprises a container 1, which has an inner surface and an outer surface and which is suitable for containing a product in contact with the inner surface, such as a food product, such as wine, water, oil, but also gel or detergent.
  • In one possible form of embodiment the container 1 extends longitudinally along an axis X and preferably presents a cylindrical, ring-shaped wall.
  • Naturally, an expert in the sector could apply the method taught to containers with different geometric features too.
  • In one variant, the container 1 is rigid, in other words able to retain its shape subsequently to being filled with the product. It may however be hypothesised that it has a "stable" form even prior to this operation.
  • In one preferred form of embodiment, the container 1 is made of glass.
  • The containment assembly according to the present invention also comprises at least one primary label 3, and at least one secondary label 4.
  • The primary label 3 is attached to the outer surface of the container 1 and bears product information 6.
  • Product information means any graphic representation and/or text. For some examples, see the introductory section of this patent.
  • The primary label 3 may be attached in a removable manner to the container 1. Alternatively it may be fixed to the container in an unremovable manner.
  • Within the sphere of this patent, the term "removable" means that the label can be detached from the container only by damaging it, for example tearing or wetting it.
  • According to a possible form of embodiment, the primary label 3 is a self-adhesive label. However there is no reason why it should not be attached to the container 1 using a glue, for example previously applied to the label or to the container.
  • The secondary label 4 is also attached to the outer surface of the container 1 and preferably comprises, at least one portion which is essentially fixed 12, that is unremovable from the container, and at least one detachable portion 5.
  • The inner surface of the secondary label 4, facing the outer surface of the container 1, shows at least in part the product information 6 present on the primary label 3.
  • For example, the inner surface of the secondary label 4 bears the wine producer's logo as well as the identifying details of the said wine and the references for contacting the product retailers.
  • In one possible form of embodiment, the primary label 3 and/or secondary label 4 are square or rectangular. In other forms of embodiment of the invention the label may be round, ellipsoidal, triangular or polygonal.
  • In another version, the primary label 3 and the secondary label 4 are positioned diametrically opposite the aforesaid cylindrical wall of the container 1.
  • In a further variant, the primary label 3 and the secondary label 4 are axially staggered.
  • It is obvious that the only limitation to the variants of position relative to the two labels is one's imagination. One could, for example place the two labels on top of one another, or overlay them only partially.
  • In an alternative form of embodiment, the dimensions of the product information 6 on the primary label 3 are larger than the dimensions of the product information on the secondary label 4.
  • It may also be theorised that the dimensions of the product information 6 on the primary label 3 are smaller than the dimensions of the product information 6 on the secondary label 4.
  • According to a possible form of embodiment, the detachable part 5 is plasticised on at least one side.
  • In yet a further embodiment variation, the entire secondary label 4 is plasticised.
  • In yet a further embodiment variation, the secondary label 4 is made from a material able to resist the effects of water and humidity.
  • According to a further embodiment variation, the secondary label 4 is made in plastic film, such as PET.
  • Another form of embodiment of the invention foresees that the detachable section may be reapplied adhesively.
  • In a possible form of implementation of the method taught, the secondary label 4 has at least one weakened strip 7 able to facilitate the detachment of the detachable portion 5. It is also possible that, in accordance with this alternative, the weakened strip 7 is represented by an elliptical or circular, closed line.
  • Preferably however, the secondary label 4 has two, axially spaced weakened strips 7.
  • In a possible embodiment variation, the weakened strip 7 extends horizontally.
  • In a further form of embodiment, the weakened strip 7 comprises a series of cuts or perforations separating the essentially fixed portion 12 from the detachable portion 5.
  • In this context it is preferable for at least one end of the weakened strip 7 to be composed of a unifying section 11 between the essentially fixed portion 12 and the detachable portion 5, to prevent difficulties in packaging the containers.
  • In a preferred embodiment variation, the secondary label 4 has at least one indentation 8 of the peripheral edge to facilitate the initial detachment of the detachable portion 5 from the essentially fixed portion 12 of the secondary label 4.
  • Another variation foresees that the indentation 8 intersects the weakened strip 7 and/or that the indentation 8 is positioned at least at one end of the weakened strip 7.
  • In one form of embodiment of the first aforesaid case, it is possible that the extremity of the indentation 8 which intersects the weakened strip 7 has at least one unifying section 10 between the essentially fixed portion 12 and the detachable portion 5.
  • In a further form of embodiment, the detachable portion 5 comprises at least one supplementary grip portion 9. In this variation the supplementary grip portion 9 , protrudes or is indented, in relation to at least one edge of the essentially fixed portion 12.
  • As can be seen from the previous description the invention permits the advantage of being able to take the product information with you, without having to use pen and paper.
  • The invention also provides the producer with an easy and immediate manner of publicising the product in places where it is not permitted or not feasible to distribute leaflets or put up posters.
  • It is clear that a technician skilled in the sector may make the variations and modifications to the assembly described above.
  • For example, in a further embodiment variation, the container has a sole label which on one portion, acting as the primary label, shows the product information, and on another portion, acting as a secondary label and fully detachable, shows, in accordance with the method taught, at least some of the product information.
  • It is clear that such variants are to be deemed included in the sphere of protection defined by the following claims.
