Abstract

The plug connector has a housing for plugging in a counter plug, a through channel for an insulated inner conductor contact and an arrangement for mechanically connecting the plug housing and counter plug. The connecting arrangement exerts axial tension on the counter plug to clamp outer conductor contact surfaces of the counter plug and plug connector together. The plug connector (2) has a housing open at one end for plugging in a counter plug (3) and with a through channel containing an insulated inner conductor contact (7) and a connecting arrangement (11) for mechanically connecting the plug housing to the counter plug. The counter plug is latched by the connecting arrangement when the plug connector is connected to it. The connecting arrangement is designed to exert an axial tension on the counter plug to clamp an outer conductor contact surface of the counter plug against an outer conductor contact surface of the plug connector.

Description

The invention relates to a coaxial connector with a Plug housing that on one end for plugging a mating connector is open and which is penetrated by a channel, in which an inner conductor contact is arranged insulated, with connecting means for mechanical connection of the connector housing with the mating connector.

Examples of such well-known connectors are in the US 5,088,937, DE 3 117 320 and EP 0 867 978 A2. These connectors each have an external thread on which the mating connector is screwed. through This screw connection becomes the two adjacent outer conductor contact surfaces excited against each other. This resilience must reach a minimum axial force so that the electrical contact of the outer conductor between the connector and the mating connector is guaranteed. With these connectors there is the disadvantage that the assembly is comparatively is complex and that between the plugs of a row of plugs there is a minimum distance for attaching a tool have to be.

EP-A-0 664 578 offenbart einem Steckverbinder und Gegenstecker nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.EP-A-0 664 578 discloses a connector and mating connector according to the preamble of claim 1.

The invention is based on the object of a connector to create the type mentioned, the easier and faster to assemble and yet it is reliable.

The task is by a connector un mating connector according to claim 1 solved.

On the one hand, the connecting means enable a very quick and easy coupling of the connector with the mating connector and at the same time ensure a minimum contact force, which is, for example, 300N. After plugging in of the mating connector, the two parts are therefore mechanical connected and without additional measures is the mentioned contact guaranteed.

According to a development of the invention, the connecting means a radially resiliently stretchable outer conductor sleeve on, which can be locked with the mating connector. The mating connector can then with its front end in this outer conductor sleeve be inserted, this outer conductor sleeve on the mating connector aufrastet. In this case, the counter plug preferably has on the outside a circumferential rib on which the outer conductor sleeve can be snapped on. To the mentioned axial tension to produce, preferably has said rib on the back an inclined clamping surface. Leaves on this clamping surface there is a radial clamping force of the outer conductor sleeve in an axial Redirect contact pressure. This arrangement has the special one Advantage that the axial force is essentially independent of Dimensional tolerances, as these are essentially independent of the Position is where the radial force on the clamping surface attacks.

Die Aussenleiterhülse leitet diese radiale Kraft wenigstens teilweise in die genannte achsiale Spannkraft um.A permanent tension is particularly guaranteed if, according to a development of the invention, the outer conductor sleeve is surrounded by a locking sleeve. This locking sleeve is preferably axially displaceable and encompasses in the outer conductor sleeve in a working position. The locking sleeve exerts a radial on the outer conductor sleeve inward force. The outer conductor sleeve conducts this radial force at least partially in the mentioned axial Elasticity around.

The connector is preferably an SMA connector. Such a Connector is from a channel with a diameter of about 4.1 millimeters penetrated. With such comparatively small ones The required axial clamping force can be connected with the above-mentioned rib on the outside of the counter plug to reach. The connector according to the invention can be used as Angle connector or also designed as a straight connector his. The special advantage of an angle connector is that that the mating connector and the connector around the common Longitudinal axis freely rotatable against each other are. The angled connector of the connector can thus be done precisely and arbitrarily without impairing the connection be aligned.

Further advantageous features result from the dependent ones Claims, the following description and the Drawing.

The connector 2 has a connector housing 5, on which a angled connector 26 is formed, which is in a carrier 28 protrudes. The housing 5 is open on one end and penetrated by a channel 6. An inner conductor contact 7 is arranged in channel 6 and by means of a sleeve-shaped insulator 14 isolated from the plug housing 5. Channel 6 is on the back closed with a lid 25. The connector housing 5 forms the outer conductor and has an annular end face circumferential contact surface 9. The insulating sleeve 14 is like can be seen flush with this contact surface 9.

Wie ersichtlich überragt eine Stirnseite 4 die Hülse 11 die Kontaktfläche 9 der Aussenleiterhülse 30.A holder 18 is placed on the housing 5 and, for example, by radial pressing connected to the connector housing 5. On the holder 18 is an adapter sleeve 11 is arranged with axial Slots 24 is provided and several spring-elastic locking tongues 29 forms. At the front of these locking tongues 29 are radial molded inward locking lugs 8. Outside will each formed by a shoulder 22 a stop. As can be seen One end face 4 projects over the sleeve 11 over the contact surface 9 of the outer conductor sleeve 30.

On the holder 18, a locking sleeve 20 is limited axially slidably guided. Figure 1 shows the locking sleeve 20 in a withdrawn standby position, in which a radially inwardly directed edge 23 on a locking rib 19 (Figure 3) is engaged. Figure 3 shows the locking sleeve 20 in the working position. In this position the Locking sleeve 20 on the shoulder 22 and exercises with one front edge 21 on the clamping sleeve 11 a radial force. In Figure 3, the locking sleeve 20 is thus on the Clamping sleeve 11 pushed on.

The mating connector 3 has an outer conductor in the form of a essentially cylindrical housing 31. In a continuous Channel 32 of this housing 31 is a conductor 15, in which an inner conductor contact 16 is arranged. Front faces the housing 31 has a cylindrical recess 17 in which an annular contact surface 10 is arranged. This contact area 10 can also be seen flush with the insulator 15. At a distance from the contact surface 10 is on the outside of the housing 31 a radially projecting rib 12 is arranged. On the back of this Rib 12 is a circumferential clamping surface 13, the 2 at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis A of the mating connector 3 is inclined.

The mating connector 3 is plugged onto the connector 5, in which this with a front end 33 in the clamping sleeve 11 axially is inserted until the two contact surfaces 9 and Touch 10. The clamping sleeve 11 becomes resilient on the end face stretched and just before touching the two contact surfaces 9 and 10 snap the catches 8 behind the groove 12 and lie on the clamping surface 13. The locking sleeve 20 is now moved into the position shown in FIG. 3 and exercises in this position with the edge 21 on the outer conductor sleeve 11 a radial force. This power is about Lugs 8 and the clamping surface 13 introduced into the mating connector 3. Due to the inclination of the clamping surface 13 there is a Force component in the direction of the axis A. The axial contact force is, for example, 300N. Since the contact surfaces 9 and 10 are comparatively small, this results in a comparatively small large surface pressure. This is particularly the case with one SMA connector, in which the inner diameter d of the channel 6 is about 4.1 millimeters. This is a reliable electrical Contact guaranteed. The connector 2 and the mating connector 3 are not only electrical, but also mechanical reliably connected. 3, the locking sleeve 20 in a dash-dotted line here Connection part 27 may be arranged.

The connection 1 can be detachable or non-detachable. at An unsolvable variant, for example, the locking sleeve 20 radially pressed or otherwise against displacement be secured.
