Abstract

The method involves referencing image formations (11,11') on image cylinders (2,2') w.r.t. print substrates (15) to achieve a register match with sub-color images (7,7'...) when printing. Position referencing of the image formations on the image cylinders w.r.t. the print substrates is performed independently of time, at least for a defined region of all sub-color images. Independent claims are also included for an apparatus for setting the register, and for a multicolor printing machine.
