Abstract

The applicator brush has a central core of metal wire (1) of 0.50 - 0.75 mm diameter, twisted to hold bristles (4, 5) in radiating spiral tufts which are trimmed to give the brush head a cylindrical shape with a truncated conical tip. The bristles a mixture of plastic and vegetable fibres, the latter being of cotton, linen or similar with a maximum diameter of 0.6 mm and comprising between 10 and 50 per cent of the total. The plastic fibres can be solid of hollow, with smooth or grooved outer surf and a diameter of about 0.17 mm.

Description

The present invention relates to a brush used for eyelash make-up, more precisely a brush impregnated with a certain product which is subsequently applied to the eyelashes so that these last receive a mascara that improves their appearance aesthetic.

The present invention provides a brush allowing the mascara to be applied under conditions optimal, more precisely by means of a single eyelash application, based on structural features that define a better absorption of the makeup product used.

The classic brushes used for the application of mascara to the eyelashes is structured traditionally by means of tufts of fibers relatively long, helically arranged around a core or support constituted by a wire twisted metal.

More specifically, these brushes are manufactured with, in general, relatively ductile fibers, suitable for making up something as delicate as the lashes, usually nylon, in its different variants, and take advantage of the property moisture absorption of this material.

On the other hand and as everyone knows, the use of the brush is to immerse it in a container containing the make-up product and passing it on through a drainer, the latter having to leave the appropriate quantity of product, distributed so uniform on the brush, to allow application also uniform of said product on the eyelashes.

However, due to the nature of the fibers used, this operation does not guarantee correct distribution of the product over the entire brush, since, due to the proximity of the fibers, as well as their flexibility, said fibers are bend towards the axis of the brush, producing thus a concentration of the product within said brush greater than the quantity of product retained by the fibers in the part of said fibers which enters contact with eyelashes.

As a result, the user obtains hardly a good makeup with a single pass and must make repetitive applications.

To solve this problem, there are several solutions on the market based on adequacy various parameters such as fiber diameter used, various types of section thereof, various surface finishes, smooth or with slits longitudinally parallel to the fiber axis, a more or less fiber in tufts, different diameters of the wire, a different number of turns or turns of the helicoid the brush etc.

In practice, the use of fibers which have longitudinal slots on their surface parallel to the axis of said fibers aims to ensure that the product fills these slots, thus constituting a sort of "warehouse" to retain the product in the area near the free end tufts, where the fibers come into contact with the eyelashes of the user.

However, the results obtained in all cases, really leave something to be desired, reason why, as previously stated, it is necessary to make repeated applications to obtain a acceptable makeup.

The brush object of the present invention solves, quite satisfactorily the problem above by allowing application of the product in optimal conditions and, consequently, in to obtain eyelash makeup in one single application.

For these purposes and more specifically, the brush above, from a structure similar to that of a conventional brush, that is to say by being structured on the basis of tufts of fibers arranged helically around a core or support formed by a twisted wire, centers its characteristics that said fibers consist of a combination of natural fibers plastic and vegetable fibers, preferably cotton, linen or similar, correctly distributed.

The incorporation by brush of vegetable fibers supposes that said fibers act as a deposit of product by taking advantage of their absorption power, everything by acting, since they are interspersed in spaces left by plastic fibers, such as spacers of the latter, which are more separate than usually. So the eyelashes, in addition to an effect of makeup, do they also have an effect combing parallel, as a result of which each plastic fiber is powered by plant fibers adjacent, allowing better application of the product to the eyelashes.

The characteristics of plastic fibers used can be any of those commonly used for conventional brushes: smooth, full, hollow outer surface, the surface exterior with longitudinal slots, but preferably, their diameter should be of the order of 0.17 mm, while vegetable fibers, preferably made of cotton, linen or similar, have a maximum diameter of around 0.6 mm and can consist of one or more several tips.

On the other hand, the proportion of vegetable fibers in the general context of the brush, i.e. by based on the total number of fibers, can be understood between 10 and 50%.

Finally, the metal wire constituting the soul of the brush and the fiber fastener, must also preferably have a diameter between 0.50 and 0.75 mm and the pitch of the helicoid formed by the fibers is between 1 and 2 mm.

To complete the description made and in order to help better understand the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred embodiment of said invention, we enclose as an integral part of said description a set of drawings representing, without this representation being restrictive but only illustrative, the following elements:

Figure 1 - It shows, schematically, a side elevational view of the metal wire intended to constitute the core of the brush, once folded back on itself to receive within it the tufts of fibers.

Figure 2 - This is a representation similar to Figure 1, but on which appear, on the wire or the core of the brush, plastic fibers.

Figure 3 - It represents, like the previous figures, the same set as that shown in Figure 2 after the incorporation of plant fibers.

In these figures, it is possible to notice how the brush for applying mascara on the eyelashes proposed by the invention consists of from a wire element 1, of appropriate length, with a diameter between 0.5 and 0.75 mm, folded over itself in the middle 2, thus defining a groove 3 into which the tufts of fibers, i.e. a set of 4 tufts of fibers plastic, for example nylon, and a set of tufts 5 of vegetable fibers, for example cotton, the first having a diameter of 0.17 mm and the second, a diameter of 0.6 mm.

As mentioned above, fibers 4 of nature plastic can be solid or hollow and have a smooth or grooved surface, while the fibers 5 plants can be structured with one or several tips.

In all cases and after implantation fibers 4-5, respecting the layout alternating above, along the groove 3 of the metal wire 1 constituting the core of the brush, said wire should be twisted, as shown in FIG. 4, to form, together with a means fixing and retaining for fibers 4-5, a brush handling handle 6, the brush itself can be subjected to milling, to determine a sector in said brush cylindrical and a frustoconical sector, as shown also in Figure 4 above.

Although in the practical embodiment example represented by the figures, the proportion of fibers 50%, i.e. there is a tuft of vegetable fibers 5 for a tuft of fibers plastics 4, in practice this proportion can be reduced, if necessary, until the percentage of vegetable fibers represents, at a minimum, 10%.

On the other hand, the pitch of the helicoid defined by tufts of fibers 4-5, when twisting yarn 1, may have a tail between 1 and 2 mm.

Claims (5)

Brush intended for the application of mascara on eyelashes, of the type formed by a central core materialized by a metal wire which, folded back on itself, receives within it a plurality of tufts of fibers which, after twisting the wire, adopt a radial and helical arrangement, in remaining uniformly distributed along said wire metallic, characterized in that said fibers are materialize by a mixture, with proportions variable, plastic (4) and vegetable (5) fibers. Brush intended for the application of mascara on eyelashes according to claim 1, characterized in that the proportion of vegetable fibers (5) per relative to the total number of fibers making up the brush is between 10 and 50%. Brush intended for the application of mascara on eyelashes, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the plastic fibers (4), which can be solid or hollow, with a surface smooth or grooved outer, have a diameter of about 0.17 mm. Brush intended for the application of mascara on eyelashes, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the plant fibers (5) in cotton, linen or similar, have a maximum diameter of 0.6 mm and consist of one or more ends. Brush intended for the application of mascara on eyelashes, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the metal wire (1) has a diameter between 0.50 and 0.75 mm and in that the not the helicoid it forms with the fibers after its twist is between 1 and 2 mm.
