Abstract

Bei einer Einrichtung zum Diebstahlschutz eines Gerätes, vorzugsweise eines Autoradios, das zur Inbetriebnahme einen von einem austauschbaren Datenträger, vorzugsweise einer Chipkarte, gelesenen Code benötigt, weist ein austauschbarer Datenträger einen beschreibbaren ersten Speicherplatz für einen Code und einen beschreibbaren zweiten Speicherplatz für eine Kennung auf, die besagt, ob am beschreibbaren ersten Speicherplatz ein Code gespeichert ist. Dabei ist vorzugsweise vorgesehen, daß in einer Lernphase von einem im Gerät befindlichen Prozessor nach Verbinden des Datenträgers, vorzugsweise der Chipkarte, mit dem Gerät die Kennung abfragbar ist, worauf bei einer vorhandenen Kennung im Gerät ein Code erzeugt und in den ersten Speicherplatz des Datenträgers und in einen Speicher des Gerätes geschrieben wird und die Kennung in den zweiten Speicherplatz geschrieben wird. Zum Anlernen eines weiteren Gerätes wird bei einer vorhandenen Kennung der Code gelesen und in den Speicher des Gerätes geschrieben.
