Abstract
Description
Claims (16)
- A cable anchor for use in supporting a cable within a conduit, comprising: an elastic finger having means at one end thereof for attachment to a cable, and having an opposite end thereof adapted for engaging an interior surface of a conduit within which the cable is to be supported and thereby prevent the cable from moving longitudinally within the conduit.
- A cable anchor of Claim 1, wherein the elastic finger further comprises a generally rectangular strip of elastic material.
- A cable anchor of Claim 2, wherein the elastic material is spring steel.
- A cable anchor of any of the preceding claims, wherein the elastic finger further comprises a strip of elastic material wherein the opposite end thereof is angled outwardly.
- A cable anchor of any of Claims 1 to 3, wherein the elastic finger further comprises a strip of elastic material wherein the opposite end thereof is curved.
- A cable anchor of any of the preceding claims, wherein the elastic finger further comprises a strip of elastic material wherein the opposite end includes means for engaging the interior surface of the conduit.
- A cable anchor of Claim 6, wherein the engaging means comprises a block of material with serrations.
- A cable anchor of any of the preceding claims, wherein the means for attachment comprises glue.
- A cable anchor of any of the preceding claims, wherein the means for attachment comprises one or more bands.
- A cable anchor of any of the preceding claims, wherein the cable includes an outer metallic armour, and the one end of the elastic finger is inserted under the metallic armour.
- A cable anchor for use in supporting a cable within a conduit, comprising: a clamp body having means for attachment to a cable; at least one elastic finger extending out from the clamp body; and each of the elastic fingers adapted for engaging an interior surface of a conduit within which the cable is to be supported and thereby prevent the cable from longitudinally moving within the conduit.
- A cable anchor of Claim 11, wherein the means for attachment further comprises one or more straps.
- A cable anchor of Claim 11 or Claim 12, wherein the elastic fingers further comprise one-piece spring metal members.
- A cable and conduit assembly, comprising: a conduit having a cable longitudinally disposed therein; a plurality of cable anchors spaced along and attached to the cable for transferring the weight of the cable to the conduit; and a portion of the cable anchors comprising elastic fingers having means at one end thereof for attachment to the cable, and having an opposite end thereof adapted for engaging an interior surface of the conduit and thereby prevent the cable from longitudinally moving within the conduit.
- A cable and conduit assembly, comprising: a conduit having a cable longitudinally disposed therein; a plurality of elastic fingers extending from the cable and frictionally engaging an interior surface of the conduit; and the elastic fingers being angled to permit installation of the cable within the conduit in a first longitudinal direction and to prevent movement of the cable within the conduit in a second longitudinal direction.
- A cable and conduit assembly of Claim 15, wherein the interior surface of the conduit includes serrations against which the elastic fingers engage.
