Definitions
- DE 35 27 112 C2 discloses a remotely controllable hearing device, the various settings of which can otherwise be arranged on the hearing aid itself by means of an ultrasound transmitter, the actual steepers being accommodated in a separate housing of the remote control.
- the microphone of the actual hearing aid is also used to receive the ultrasound signals.
- EP 0 064 042 B1 discloses a circuit arrangement for a hearing aid in which the parameters for eight different environmental situations are stored in the hearing aid itself in a memory.
- a switch By actuating a switch, a first group of parameters is called up and controls, via a control unit, a signal processor connected between the microphone and the receiver, which then sets a first transmission function intended for an intended environment. All eight transfer functions can be called up in succession via a switch until the right one is found.
- an automatic adaptation by switching to another transmission function is also provided if the user comes from a noisy environment to a quiet environment, for example, or vice versa. This switchover also takes place cyclically. If you want to set transmission functions other than those saved, then the non-volatile memory must be erased by an external programming unit and re-programmed by this.
- a remotely controllable, programmable hearing aid is known, with its transmission properties between microphone and receiver optionally adjustable to different transmission characteristics amplifier and transmission part, with an external control device with a transmitter for the wireless transmission of control signals after the hearing aid and a receiver inside for recording and demodulating control signals.
- the external control unit contains in a digital control unit a first memory for a number of programs representing parameters for different transmission characteristics of the hearing aid and a control panel for the selective retrieval of a set of parameters for one of the transmission characteristics for transmission to the hearing aid and one with these Parameters that can be modulated as control signals.
- the hearing device contains a further control unit, which can be controlled by the control signals after its demodulation, for controlling the transmission part of the hearing device, and the external control device has a high-frequency transmitter which can be modulated with the control signals.
- the user can choose between different setting options for the actual hearing aid, for example a setting for quiet rooms, a setting for driving in a car, another setting for listening to music, etc.
- the hearing aid can be operated by using corresponding buttons on the external Control unit presses.
- the external control device for the hearing aid also enables the hearing aid to be adapted to the user's hearing impairment.
- the hearing aid acoustician can carry out the settings for the various environmental influences together with the hearing impaired person by means of an interactive setting process.
- the object of the invention is to provide a data input for a remote control and / or programming unit of a remotely controllable and / or programmable hearing aid after construction and operation more advantageous, such that user-friendly, less trouble-prone and miniaturized electrical components are used.
- a pressure sensor is a pressure sensor which responds to pressure and which reacts with variable resistance. The stronger the compressive force acting on the film design, the more the electrical resistance drops.
- This pressure sensitivity is optimally suited for manual actuation of the switching, adjusting and regulating elements of the remote control or programming unit for the hearing aid, both for remote control of the hearing aid and for programming (adaptation of the hearing aid to the hearing loss of the respective user) and also for readjustment of the hearing aid or for its volume control.
- a pressure sensor can form a changeover switch for setting the hearing device to a specific hearing situation (for example quiet or loud environmental situations).
- the pressure sensors can be in the form of dots, stripes or planes, in particular as a matrix, can be arranged on the operating side of the remote control device or the programming unit and can be subjected to direct pressure by a finger or e.g. a switching pin can be operated.
- pressure sensors of the type used are membrane switches, but in contrast to conventional switches they change the resistance when pressure is applied in the normal direction.
- a finger pressure of about 10 g on a pressure sensor causes the resistance to drop linearly from, for example, 400 kOhm to 40 kOhm.
- These sensors are therefore ideal for touch controls where semi-quantitative sensors are desired, which are relatively inexpensive, thin (less than 0.15 mm), very durable (approx. 10 mil. Releases) and resistant to environmental influences.
- the sensors can be combined into sensor fields.
- Pressure and position sensors can detect the position and normal pressure applied to a single trigger, such as a finger or pen, along a line (linear potentiometer) or on a flat surface (XYZ pad). Depending on the arrangement, position resolutions of 0.05 mm can be achieved.
- the input panel 6 has a matrix field 7 of pressure and / or pressure and position sensors in film design.
- the matrix consists of laminated polymer layers, one layer 8 being coated with interdigitating electrodes and the associated other layer being coated with a semiconductor material 9.
- the matrix field forms a plurality of pressure and / or pressure and position sensors 10.
- Such sensors can be used to replace susceptible contacts of conventional switches, known potentiometers and known miniature control elements, the Switching and control depending on the force acting on the pressure sensor and / or the direction of force is possible.
- components such as a joystick or a linear potentiometer or a programming field can be created.
- the linear potentiometer provided according to the invention for example formed by a section A of the matrix field 7 or a matrix field strip 11, enables a specific value to be controlled and then processed as a signal. In this way, a force can be exerted on a scaling 12 of pressure sensors arranged in a row which drives a desired value.
- a clocking of these two connections allows the multiplexed independent measurement of the force / position, which detects changes in position up to 0.05 mm.
- a three-layer XYZ digitizer pad sensor design provides a multiplexed Force / position output in one level.
- the measurement position can be any coordinate set in the device level.
- the force exerted on the sensor can be measured independently.
- This sensor design is particularly suitable for measuring the position of a punctiform object, for example a fingertip or a pen.
- the matrix field sensor arrangement consisting of several pressure sensors, which are arranged on a common carrier substrate, is suitable. These sensors can be addressed serially or in parallel.
- the pressure sensors used are characterized by particularly good durability and can be designed as relatively thin profiles in thicknesses of 0.02 to 0.7 mm. Furthermore, the pressure sensors have no moving parts and are insensitive to vibrations. Furthermore, the pressure sensors provided are particularly resistant to temperature, chemicals and moisture. Finally, the pressure sensors can work with very low currents.
- 7 input fields in the form of keys F 1-F n are provided in the lower section of the matrix field for selecting different hearing aid functions.
- These function keys F1-F n are assigned, for example, the volume, one or more AGC's (automatic gain control circuit), a PC (output sound pressure level limitation), a treble and bass reduction or a crossover frequency setting for multi-channel devices.
- the further section A of the matrix field with its sensors serves to change the hearing aid functions.
- an LC display 13 is shown in FIG the matrix field 7 is provided, via which data can be displayed.
- Forms 14 with data or program curves 15, graphics or audiograms of the hearing aid user can also be placed on the matrix 7 of the input panel 6 for programming (FIG. 3).
- Fixing elements 16 are provided on the programming unit 1 for fixing and holding the forms 14.
- the audiogram curve 15 of the hearing impaired person can be transferred to the matrix field 7 using a pressure pen, the data supplied by the sensors 10 being converted into a target gain curve (target amplification for the hearing aid device) by means of the computer 3 and being able to be supplied to the hearing aid device 5.
- a remote control 21 has an input panel 6 on which a matrix 7 and a display 13 are arranged.
- the matrix is divided into four fields / sections AD and forms selection switches S 1, S 2 and possibly an on / off switch S 3 in the lower edge section.
- the hearing aid user Via the selection switch S1, S2, the hearing aid user can use the remote control in the hearing aid or in the remote control unit to program programmed functions, such as, for example, certain signal processing programs that have been tuned to different listening situations (loud or quiet surroundings, street noise, concert), or call up or hear the hearing aid Switch from microphone operation to induction or telephone coil operation.
- the remote control can also switch off automatically with a time delay, so that an additional switch is unnecessary.

Abstract
Description
Hearing aids and devices for adapting their characteristics to the respective hearing damage of a hearing impaired person are known. For example, DE 35 27 112 C2 discloses a remotely controllable hearing device, the various settings of which can otherwise be arranged on the hearing aid itself by means of an ultrasound transmitter, the actual steepers being accommodated in a separate housing of the remote control. The microphone of the actual hearing aid is also used to receive the ultrasound signals.
Furthermore, EP 0 064 042 B1 discloses a circuit arrangement for a hearing aid in which the parameters for eight different environmental situations are stored in the hearing aid itself in a memory. By actuating a switch, a first group of parameters is called up and controls, via a control unit, a signal processor connected between the microphone and the receiver, which then sets a first transmission function intended for an intended environment. All eight transfer functions can be called up in succession via a switch until the right one is found. On the other hand, an automatic adaptation by switching to another transmission function is also provided if the user comes from a noisy environment to a quiet environment, for example, or vice versa. This switchover also takes place cyclically. If you want to set transmission functions other than those saved, then the non-volatile memory must be erased by an external programming unit and re-programmed by this.
From DE 36 42 828 C2 a remotely controllable, programmable hearing aid is known, with its transmission properties between microphone and receiver optionally adjustable to different transmission characteristics amplifier and transmission part, with an external control device with a transmitter for the wireless transmission of control signals after the hearing aid and a receiver inside for recording and demodulating control signals. The external control unit contains in a digital control unit a first memory for a number of programs representing parameters for different transmission characteristics of the hearing aid and a control panel for the selective retrieval of a set of parameters for one of the transmission characteristics for transmission to the hearing aid and one with these Parameters that can be modulated as control signals. Furthermore, the hearing device contains a further control unit, which can be controlled by the control signals after its demodulation, for controlling the transmission part of the hearing device, and the external control device has a high-frequency transmitter which can be modulated with the control signals.
The user can choose between different setting options for the actual hearing aid, for example a setting for quiet rooms, a setting for driving in a car, another setting for listening to music, etc. The hearing aid can be operated by using corresponding buttons on the external Control unit presses. The external control device for the hearing aid also enables the hearing aid to be adapted to the user's hearing impairment. The hearing aid acoustician can carry out the settings for the various environmental influences together with the hearing impaired person by means of an interactive setting process.
Schließlich sind weitere Einrichtungen bzw. Geräte zum Programmieren von Hörhilfegeräten durch die EP-A 0 363 609 und CH-A 671 131 bekannt. Finally, further devices or devices for programming hearing aids are known from EP-A 0 363 609 and CH-A 671 131.
The object of the invention is to provide a data input for a remote control and / or programming unit of a remotely controllable and / or programmable hearing aid after construction and operation more advantageous, such that user-friendly, less trouble-prone and miniaturized electrical components are used.
According to the invention, this object is achieved with such data entry with the features of claim 1. With such data input, input buttons, switches, slide switches, control elements, controllers, potentiometers or the like. replaced by the pressure sensors and / or pressure and position sensors arranged in the matrix field. Such a pressure sensor is a pressure sensor which responds to pressure and which reacts with variable resistance. The stronger the compressive force acting on the film design, the more the electrical resistance drops. This pressure sensitivity is optimally suited for manual actuation of the switching, adjusting and regulating elements of the remote control or programming unit for the hearing aid, both for remote control of the hearing aid and for programming (adaptation of the hearing aid to the hearing loss of the respective user) and also for readjustment of the hearing aid or for its volume control. In the case of a hearing device with stored parameters for different transmission characteristics, a pressure sensor can form a changeover switch for setting the hearing device to a specific hearing situation (for example quiet or loud environmental situations).
The pressure sensors can be in the form of dots, stripes or planes, in particular as a matrix, can be arranged on the operating side of the remote control device or the programming unit and can be subjected to direct pressure by a finger or e.g. a switching pin can be operated.
On the surface, pressure sensors of the type used are membrane switches, but in contrast to conventional switches they change the resistance when pressure is applied in the normal direction. A finger pressure of about 10 g on a pressure sensor causes the resistance to drop linearly from, for example, 400 kOhm to 40 kOhm. These sensors are therefore ideal for touch controls where semi-quantitative sensors are desired, which are relatively inexpensive, thin (less than 0.15 mm), very durable (approx. 10 mil. Releases) and resistant to environmental influences. The sensors can be combined into sensor fields. Pressure and position sensors can detect the position and normal pressure applied to a single trigger, such as a finger or pen, along a line (linear potentiometer) or on a flat surface (XYZ pad). Depending on the arrangement, position resolutions of 0.05 mm can be achieved.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 10.

On the control unit of a programming unit 1 or the like via an interface 2 to a
Such sensors can be used to replace susceptible contacts of conventional switches, known potentiometers and known miniature control elements, the Switching and control depending on the force acting on the pressure sensor and / or the direction of force is possible. In a simple version, components such as a joystick or a linear potentiometer or a programming field can be created. While the value of an already switched state is changed in a conventional potentiometer, the linear potentiometer provided according to the invention, for example formed by a section A of the
The pressure sensors used are characterized by particularly good durability and can be designed as relatively thin profiles in thicknesses of 0.02 to 0.7 mm. Furthermore, the pressure sensors have no moving parts and are insensitive to vibrations. Furthermore, the pressure sensors provided are particularly resistant to temperature, chemicals and moisture. Finally, the pressure sensors can work with very low currents.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, 7 input fields in the form of keys F 1-F n are provided in the lower section of the matrix field for selecting different hearing aid functions. These function keys F₁-F n are assigned, for example, the volume, one or more AGC's (automatic gain control circuit), a PC (output sound pressure level limitation), a treble and bass reduction or a crossover frequency setting for multi-channel devices. The further section A of the matrix field with its sensors serves to change the hearing aid functions. As partially shown in section, an
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, a
A particularly advantageous use of a pressure and position sensor results in the form of a joystick, as indicated schematically in FIG. 7. Depending on the pressure position and / or the pressure force and / or the pressure direction of a
