Zusätzlich ist ein weiterer Ventilator zur Kühlung des Kondensators vorgesehen. Derartige Wäschetrockner können entweder einen einzigen Motor zum Antrieb der Wäschetrommel und der beiden Ventilatoren besitzen oder sowohl für die Wäschetrommel als auch für die Ventilatoren je einen Motor aufweisen. Schließlich kann ein Motor zum Antrieb der Wäschetrommel und ein Motor zum Antrieb beider Ventilatoren vorgesehen sein. Derartige Wäschetrockner stehen sehr häufig im Wohnbereich eines Haushaltes, z. B. im Badezimmer, und werden im Nachtbetrieb eingesetzt. Dabei kann das von dem Trockner erzeugte Geräusch sehr störend empfunden werden. Damit ist es möglich, den Trockner auf Wunsch mit einer verminderten Heizleistung zu betreiben, was zur Folge hat, daß die Drehzahlen der Ventilatoren ebenfalls erniedrigt werden können, weil wegen der verminderten Heizleistung nicht mehr so viel Prozeßluft pro Zeiteinheit benötigt wird. Dies bedeutet zwar, daß die Trockenzeit geringfügig verlängert wird, was jedoch in der Regel unbedeutend ist, wenn der Trockner insbesondere im Nachtbetrieb verwendet wird. Gedacht ist z. B. an eine Reduzierung der Heizleistung und der Trommel- und Gebläsedrehzahl um 20 bis 40%.
