On connaît, par le brevet FR-2 473 864, un siège pour travail debout comportant une surface d'assise plane prolongée par un appui de bassin de forme bombée ; cette assise est portée par un bâti présentant, soit une colonne centrale munie d'un piètement en étoile à plusieurs branches, soit un montant à deux branches, agencées en "V" ou en "lambda", et qui sont pourvues chacune d'une traverse horizontale en appui sur le sol de manière à ce que l'utilisateur du siège puisse faire reposer ses pieds sur la traverse située à l'avant.
