Abstract

It comprises a watertight seal and a narrow opening (6,7) through which the paper is extracted, the paper (8a) being divided into portions by perforated lines which define the lengths of moistened paper to be used, and is characterized in that it is provided with a housing (5,5a) arranged coaxially to the packaging, accessible from both its bases, and which constitutes a bearing for a shaft (9) mounted on a support fixed to a wall, and in that said narrow exit opening (6,7) for the paper is arranged in the side surface of said packaging.

Description

  • The present invention refers to a packaging for containing rolls of moistened paper for bodily hygiene.
  • There are known rolls of paper moistened with substances which disinfect and freshen, intended for bodily hygiene. These rolls are arranged inside hermetically sealed containers which have a narrow opening, supplied with elastic retaining ribbing, in one base, through which is passed one end of the paper roll, which must be extracted until a piece, or towelette, delimited by transverse perforated lines cut in the strip of moistened paper, becomes detached.
  • The use of these moistened towelettes has certain drawbacks since the user is obliged to have the container accommodating the roll of moistened paper to hand in the bathroom, and must open it at the time of use in order to extract towelettes as needed before closing it again on termination of use.
  • The packaging which is the object of this invention has been conceived in order to make more convenient the use of such rolls of moistened paper.
  • The said packaging is of the type provided with a watertight seal and a narrow opening through which the moistened paper, which is divided into usable portions by perforated transverse lines, is extracted. Starting from this known embodiment the packaging is essentially characterized in that it is provided with a housing arranged coaxially to the packaging which is accessible from both of its bases. This housing constitutes a bearing for a shaft mounted in a support which is fixed to a wall, for example a shaft such as is used for supporting toilet rolls. The packaging is also provided with a narrow opening for the paper, arranged on the side surface of the packaging.
  • The coaxial housing is formed by a tube joined to the bases of the packaging around which is placed the roll of moistened paper.
  • The packaging comprises two can-like halves, each with one base closed and the other open, whose open base present mutual coupling means for closing the packaging. Respective coaxial tubes proceed inwards from the closed bases, these tubes being open to the outside and provided with means for mutual engagement, for forming a single tube around which is placed the roll of moistened paper.
  • The mouth of at least one of the halves of the packaging is provided with an exit opening for the moistened paper.
  • To improve understanding of the contents of the present description it is accompanied by a number of drawings in which, only by ways of example, is shown a practical embodiment of the packaging.
  • In said drawings figure 1 is a perspective view of the two halves of the packaging, separated; figure 2 is an enlarged detail of the mouth of one of the halves with an exit opening for the moistened paper; and figure 3 is a perspective view of the closed packaging, mounted around a shaft for sustaining rolls of toilet paper.
  • The packaging for containing rolls of moistened paper for bodily hygiene shown in the drawings comprises two can-like halves -1- and -1a-, each with one closed base -2-, -2a- and the other base open in the form of a mouth provided with complementary threading -3-, -3a- or other means for coupling the two halves -1- and -1a-.
  • The bases -2-, -2a- are provided with orifices -4- and -4a- from which tubes -5- and -5a- proceed inwards to the packaging; once the two halves -1- and -1a- of the packaging are coupled, said tubes remain engaged together, forming within the packaging a tubular core with its ends -4- and -4a- open to the exterior.
  • The threaded mouth -3a- of the half -1a- of the packaging is provided with an opening -6- from which there extends a slot -7-.
  • From this description and from an examination of the drawings it can be deduced that a roll -8- of moistened paper strip -8a- is housed within the packaging, with one end coming out through the opening -6- and slot -7- (figure 3). The packaging with the roll -8- within it can be mounted around the shaft -9- of a conventional toilet roll holder.
  • Thus the user has within hand reach a continuous strip -8a- of paper moistened with disinfecting and freshening substances, ready to use at all times. All that is required is a gentle pulling action on the end of the paper strip -8a- which comes out from the packaging.
  • Once the supply of moistened paper -8- has been exhausted the packaging may be disposed of and substituted by another similarly containing a roll of paper. Nevertheless, in case that replacement rolls of moistened paper are available on the market, the packaging may be retained and refilled. Placing a roll within the packaging involves no difficulty whatsoever, given that only the separation of the two halves is needed to access the interior of the packaging.
  • The materials employed in fabricating the components of the packaging remain independent from the object of the invention, as do their shapes and dimensions and all accessory details which may be encountered, always and insofar as they do not affect its essential nature.
