Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for managing a large number of motor vehicles, which are operated by different users, and a method for recording vehicle operating data.
At the interface of private transport with public multi-passenger transport, problems repeatedly arise with regard to the parking spaces required for motor vehicles for private transport. For example, central train stations, airports or the like must have a large number of parking spaces in order to provide sufficient parking space for the arriving individual traffic.
In addition to the travelers, the employees of the local or Long-distance traffic sufficient parking space to park your motor vehicles. It should be borne in mind that, for example, the flying personnel at airports is often absent for several days, so the vehicles of the flying personnel require parking space for several days.
To save parking space, it would be advantageous if the flying personnel approached with rental vehicles that could be used by other persons during the absence of the flying personnel. In practice, however, these considerations can hardly be enforced, since the rental of motor vehicles, their maintenance and servicing requires an extremely large number of staff.
From US-A 3,624,608 a device for managing a large number of motor vehicles is known according to the preamble of claim 1, in which several users share one or more motor vehicles. In principle, every user has authorized access to every single vehicle. After entering a vehicle with a key that is easily accessible to the user, he must identify himself to the system as a legitimate user. For this purpose, a card reader is arranged in the vehicle, into which the user must insert an authorization card, a credit card or the like. The data read by the card reader, together with vehicle-specific identification and consumption data, is passed on electromagnetically or in some other way to a master computer, which checks the data, saves it and - if authorized - opens an exit lock.
The invention is based on the object of specifying a device for renting motor vehicles to any person, which requires only a minimal number of staff and nevertheless enables fast renting with high security against unauthorized use of motor vehicles.
This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing features of claim 1.
In the device according to the invention for renting a large number of motor vehicles, in which different, unknown users can use different vehicles at different locations, the motor vehicle key and the motor vehicle registration document are handed over to the user via a controlled safe before the vehicle is used. The user first looks for the vehicle he wants via a dialog unit, after which the control computer - after checking the data - controls a corresponding safe for removing the motor vehicle key and vehicle registration document. Only now is the user registered with the system as a legitimate user and can go to the vehicle. Before leaving the parking area, a new access control is carried out in the area of the barrier, the vehicle-specific identification and consumption data being recorded by the system before or during the passage through the barrier.
The waiting time of a vehicle before a lock for checking the authorization of the user is sufficient to exchange data simultaneously via a vehicle-mounted transmitter. A vehicle-specific identifier is preferably also transmitted, by means of which it is possible to check whether the identified user has permissible access to the vehicle standing in front of the barrier.
Corresponding to the process of leaving the parking area, data is also recorded when entering the parking area, so that all the data for billing the rental process are available. The billing process is conveniently billed by the host computer.
The receiving device expediently has an antenna loop which is arranged in the lane of the parking area and is insensitive to contamination. Antenna loops of this type have proven themselves in connection with traffic light systems for motor vehicles.
In order to quickly lead an incoming vehicle to a designated parking space, guidance displays are provided which are controlled by the control unit after the vehicle has entered.
The invention further relates to a method for acquiring vehicle operating data according to the features of claim 7.

As shown in the flowchart in FIG. 3, it may be advantageous to subject the motor vehicle to a vehicle check after the entry of a motor vehicle at the end of the rental. For example, if the vehicle broke down during the rental period, it is sent to the supervisory authority in accordance with decision diamond 35, which initiates the necessary steps for repair or the like. A motor vehicle arriving without a breakdown is subjected to an optical check at a
For example, an
Since the control device has detected the vehicle type on the basis of the vehicle identification, it can call up the calibration curve required in each case to determine the tank content from a memory.
