Abstract

A vegetation-supporting layer (5), as a mixture consisting of a substrate, a soil stabiliser and water, is applied, preferably with a spray device, to a slope or a wall (1). The thickness of the vegetation-supporting layer is at most 25 cm. Through the action of the soil stabiliser, the substrate adheres in itself and to three-dimensional grids (3) attached beforehand. Erosion or slippage in the face of nasty weather conditions is prevented. The process permits, for example, cost-effective, subsequent grassing of steep revetments or walls. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a method for attaching a vegetation subfloor serving for vegetation to an embankment and / or to a wall according to the preamble of claim 1, to an implementation of the method and to an embankment and / or wall with vegetation soil applied by the method .

In the modern industrialized state, the demands on traffic routes are increasing: intersections and larger gradients are avoided, and there are increasing embankments and embankments on roads, highways, railway lines and waterways. For some years now, attempts have been made to green embankments in earthworks once the building has been completed. Powerful bare concrete walls or walls are increasingly frowned upon. To green an embankment, a vegetation subfloor, for example a humus layer, must be installed beforehand. Two methods are known for this today, depending on the type and slope of the slope:

A first procedure relates to not very steep unpaved slopes. After a slope correction, for example when creating a new road, there is no longer any humus on the corrected or newly created embankment that would allow plants to grow. The application of humus is not easy due to the risk of flooding in heavy rainfall. It is known, therefore, before applying the humus So-called three-dimensional grids are attached to the ground with pegs. Three-dimensional grids are flat structures with elements protruding from the base. Such grids are laid covering the embankment and give the subsequently applied humus layer a hold against washing out or slipping. This method is suitable for slopes with a slope angle of up to approximately 50 °.

In most cases, very steep slopes with slope angles above 50 ° to about 80 ° must be artificially fixed. A concrete wall is often created for this. However, this cannot easily be greened. If the steep slope is still to be landscaped, a second, but time-consuming, method is available. An additional excavation of about 1.5 - 2 m depth is required for the embankment to be created. The embankment is now fastened by means of a wall, a so-called infiltration dowel or floor nailing. Before the fortified embankment, practically the same amount of previously excavated earth material is reinforced with geotextiles, built up in layers and compacted. Such a method is known for example under the name Textomur.

Even more complex, if not almost impossible, is the greening of an existing paved slope, especially a steep slope wall or a wall. For this, in most cases due to a lack of available space, removal of the paved slope, wall or wall, complex excavation and the creation of a new slope fixture are necessary before the above procedure can be applied. Corresponding effects on the construction price are foreseeable.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to show how not only new, substantially secured steep slopes, such as slope walls made of reinforced shotcrete, secured by soil nailing or similar methods, but also already existing, steep retaining walls or walls are planted without the disadvantages described above can.

This object is achieved according to the features listed in the characterizing parts of claims 1, 7 and 8.

The invention is described in more detail below with reference to drawings. Show it
  • 1 shows a section through an embankment fastened with a retaining wall with a vegetation sub-floor arranged according to the invention, and
  • FIG. 2 is a view of the embankment according to FIG. 1.

Als letztere kommen beispielsweise Nägel, Schrauben oder Stifte in Betracht.1 and 2 show a vegetation subfloor 5 applied to a support wall 1 according to the method according to the invention. The steep support wall 1, the surface of which the vegetation subfloor is inclined by at least 10 ° with respect to the vertical, consists of reinforced shotcrete and is provided with ground nails 9 anchored in the ground 2. On the side of the Support wall are mounted in the horizontal direction, serving as a holding grate, three-dimensional grid 3. The grids are fastened to the supporting wall 1 with fastening elements 4. The latter are, for example, nails, screws or pins.

The three-dimensional grids 3, as are sold, for example, by the company J. Kriesmer, Handelsgesellschaft mbH in 6500 Landegg, Austria, protrude about 8 cm from the supporting wall surface in the exemplary embodiment shown. In the method according to the invention, they serve to provide the freshly applied vegetation sub-soil 5 with a first initial hold. Furthermore, they reliably prevent washing out and / or slipping of the vegetation underbody 5 in adverse weather conditions. The vegetation sub-soil 5, the composition of which is described in detail further below, must offer the seed 6 applied to its surface the possibility of good rooting after germination. As in known and proven methods, the seed 6 is mixed with an adhesive and then the vegetation underbody 5 is sprayed with this pretreated seed. The freshly applied seed is covered, for example, with straw mats 7 for protection until germination. The vegetation underbody 5 is applied with a thin layer of at most 25 cm, but preferably only about 8-15 cm. The layer thickness of the vegetation subsoil essentially corresponds to the dimension of the parts of the three-dimensional grid protruding from the wall. So that the thinly applied vegetation underbody not drying out disproportionately quickly, recesses 8 are provided in retaining walls 1 or walls, which allow the natural moisture of the soil 2 to access the vegetation underbody. Advantageously, water collecting devices 10 are arranged in these recesses, which store water in particular after a precipitation and gradually release it to the roots of the plants. Worn-out car tires, for example, can serve as the water collecting device.

According to the invention, the vegetation underbody is prepared as a mixture of a substrate, a soil stabilizer and water. Humus and / or compost are essentially suitable as substrates. A preferred substrate is manufactured by the Ricoter company in Aarberg. It contains approx. 35% by volume of dried beetroot, approx. 25% by volume of compost from tree bark and organic waste from agriculture and the food industry, approx. 20% by volume of rice fur and approx. 20% by volume of white peat. The percentages represent a recommended mixing ratio. However, the individual components can be varied within wide limits between 0 and 70%.

The well-known product Hüls Terravest 801 from Hydrosaat in Bern has proven to be suitable as a soil stabilizer. Depending on the slope of the slope and the nature of the substrate, the soil stabilizer is admixed with 0.1 to 20, preferably 8, percent by volume. The above-mentioned soil stabilizer is a liquid plastic that, after application of the vegetation subsoil, depending on the temperature, under the influence of atmospheric oxygen cures for a few hours and connects the substrate in itself and with the three-dimensional grid. No skin forms on the surface of the vegetation subsoil, so that the soil's absorbency for rainwater is fully preserved. Therefore germination and plant growth are not affected. The soil stabilizer gives the substrate the necessary resistance to withstand strong winds and downpours. It has proven to be advantageous to add 1 to 20 percent by volume of water to the substrate, in particular when applying the vegetation underbody with a spraying device.

With the mixture prepared in this way and the spraying device mentioned, a vegetation sub-floor can also be retrofitted in a relatively simple manner to a concrete wall that has existed for years.

It is also conceivable to prepare the underbody of the vegetation as a floating mass with the above-mentioned components and to wash in the slope previously provided with the three-dimensional grid with the floating mass.

Due to the extremely thin application of the vegetation subsoil, less expensive and time-consuming excavation work and less material transport are required for preparatory work to green an embankment and / or a wall. As a result, the method according to the invention for attaching a vegetation sub-floor is not only distinguished by significant price advantages, but also makes a contribution to environmental protection. As already mentioned, the vegetation sub-floor can also be attached to long-standing retaining walls or walls without any significant additional space requirement.
