Description

The invention relates to the formation of the loosening blower for sheet feeders of sheet-fed rotary printing presses, which are adjustable in height on the frame of the sheet feeder behind and to the side of the sheet stack and are adjustable in terms of the blowing power. Loosening blowers are known from height-adjustable nozzles on the suction head of a sheet feeder in addition to blowers for carrying air during transport of the upper sheet lifted from the stack at the height of the upper sheets of a sheet stack and supplied with blown air from a rotary compressor of the standard air system for supplying the suction head with suction air and blown air. Accordingly, air is supplied to the nozzles of the loosening blowers at the pressure required for the operation of the suction head and a correspondingly high flow rate. This creates uncertainties in the paper flow of the investor, especially with thin papers, foils, statically charged paper and other substrates with comparable properties from the pallet. Loosening blowers of known design from nozzles, which are supplied with air from the standard air system of the suction head, are described in the publication "System and Investor", Heidelberger Nachrichten 4/36, pages 7 and 8, from HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN AG, 6900 Heidelberg. This publication shows loosening blowers, which are arranged in a horizontal row next to one another at the height of the upper sheets of a sheet stack, and are connected to the standard air supply of the suction head. This will loosen the upper 6 to 10 sheets of the Sheet stack reached. The known nozzles are not adjustable and can only be replaced completely. Since the standard air system of the suction head is designed for the optimal function of the suction cups and the air nozzles, additional loosening blowers cannot be provided.

The object of the invention is to improve the loosening of the sheet stack and the paper run in the feeder, especially in the case of thinner paper from the pallet, foils and the like, by means of loosening blowers which can be individually regulated and individually directed onto the sheet stack independently of the air supply system of the machine.

The invention solves this problem by means of training features according to claim 1.

Fans are independent of the machine's standard air system because each fan has its own paddle wheel with an independent drive by an electric motor. Fans can therefore be regulated independently of each other in the blown air and can be directed individually with their blown air flow at different angles against the side surfaces of the sheet stack. The number of fans provided is independent of the standard air supply and can therefore be increased as required.

The arrangement of the fans is advantageous not only on the rear edge of the sheet stack in the sheet feeder, but also on the two sides of the sheet stack. Of the fans provided on the side next to the sheet stack, the upper ones can be adjusted approximately at the level of the air blowers at the rear edge of the sheet stack and blow additional air from the sides under the upper sheet lifted off the stack when it is being transported in the feeder. this leads to Especially with thin paper, foils and comparable substrates for increased security in the paper flow.

The number of fans to be arranged on the rear edge and the two sides of the sheet stack perpendicular to it, their blowing direction and their blowing power are adapted to the respective printing material. The fans can not only be arranged next to one another, but also one above the other in height and blow air against the sheet stack in order to improve the pre-loosening effect, in particular in the case of pallet stacks. By pre-loosening the stack in deeper areas, the processing of statically charged papers can also be facilitated.

The pre-loosening can also be controlled cyclically by a valve. A pivoting, possibly also in the work cycle of the machine, can be provided by a motor, for example with a controlled electrical or pneumatic drive.

For the purpose of regulation, each fan can have a tubular attachment nozzle made of an elastic material, one end of which is firmly connected to the fan housing and the other end of which forms a nozzle cross section which is adjustable in size and in its position relative to the fan axis. This attachment nozzle can be formed from an elastically deformable hose and protrude with the free end into a clamping device which can be rotated about the fan axis and is adjustable to regulate the nozzle cross section. This creates a slot for the air outlet of the fan, the slot being rotatable about the blowing direction. The clamping device enables the slot to be enlarged or reduced to regulate the emerging air speed in addition to the regulation by Change in fan speed. In this way, the air flow can be directed at any angle against the side surface of the sheet stack. In connection with an individually adjustable suspension of the fan, the air flow can be directed obliquely upwards from the bottom or from the back to the front in the running direction of the arch. To facilitate the setting, several fans can be arranged on a common carrier, which is adjustably attached to guides of the sheet feeder frame.

The adjustment of the fan power can be programmed in accordance with the needs of certain user groups, for example label printers, plastic printers, etc., and carried out by a common adjusting element, combinations of such programs with program adjustments of the entire printing machine being possible.

The use of fans in sheet-fed rotary printing machines is known per se, but fans have hitherto only been used to press the printed sheet onto the stack in the delivery.

The drawing shows in FIGS. 1 and 2 the arrangement of a plurality of fans 1 as loosening blowers on the rear edge of a sheet stack 2 and on the two sides running perpendicular thereto. A plurality of fans 1 are arranged next to one another and optionally also one above the other both on the rear edge of the sheet stack 2 and on its sides. Above all on the rear edge of the sheet stack, the arrangement of several fans one above the other can lead to a considerable improvement in the pre-loosening of the sheet stack 2 on the stacking table of the feeder. To hold the fans 1, guides 4 are provided on the frame 3 of the feeder, on which the fans 1 are fastened with supports 5 in an individually adjustable manner. The arrows shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate the individual adjustability of the fans 1 in height, width and around the horizontal axis of the fans 1. The fans arranged laterally next to the sheet stack 2 are also about a vertical and a horizontal axis adjustable to direct the air flow of the fans to support the air in the direction of the sheet transport of the upper sheet. The suction head 6 with the suction cups 7 and the suction cups 8 is shown schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2.

Each fan consists of a paddle wheel 9 with an independent electromotive drive 10 in a housing 11, which is advantageously closed on the suction side by a dust filter 12. On the opposite side is with the housing 11 tubular attachment nozzle 13 around the fan axis 14 tight, but rotatable, connected. The attachment nozzle 13 consists of a hose made of an elastic material, one end of which is connected with a seal to the connecting part 15 on the housing 11 and the other end of which engages in a clamping device 16 composed of two clamping strips 17 and 18, which are attached to the thread by a clamping screw 19 screwable wing nut 20 engages. By means of this clamping device 16, the cross-section of the hose of the attachment nozzle 13, which is round in the open state, can be reduced to a flatly squeezed opening cross-section according to FIG. 5 and possibly closed. The rotatable mounting of the connecting part 15 with the attachment nozzle 13 allows the setting of a flat air flow at a certain angle of rotation to the axis 14 of the fan against the sheet stack.

Figures 3 to 5 show only schematically an embodiment for controlling the air flow from the fan. Other control elements for the air flow from a fan are known and can also be used.
