Description

The present invention relates to the use of data processing applied to the manufacture of wallpaper.

Currently, the manufacture of wallpaper is carried out in a traditional manner by printing the paper using cylinder machines, the engravings of which are, essentially, of the flexographic type. It is therefore necessary to make one or more cylinders to reproduce a specific paper pattern. Consequently, the quantitative and financial importance of a company's fleet of cylinders is proportional to the choice of wallpaper patterns offered to customers. This state of affairs is one of the causes of the management difficulties in this branch of the industry.

In addition, the patterns and shades are determined and immutable, which means that the paper presented to customers offers only a limited choice and does not allow the interior decorations to be fully personalized.

The different processes and devices of current printers (DE-A-3.312.372, Electronic Design Vol 30 n ° 22: "Color graphics printers 'slip into' computers systems", DE-A-2.441.756, USA 4.170.883 ) allow color printing on paper or fabric, but are not equipped with cutting devices, which allow them to overcome format constraints. The main function of existing cutting devices coupled to printing systems is to cut to a determined length. The length is determined either by reading a signal affixed to the support (FR-A-2.070.459), or by mechanically cutting identical lengths (DE-C-520.386). No cutting device is controlled by computer so that without marking, the width and the length can be designated beforehand and as the user wishes. The printer-cutter couple driven by computer therefore constitutes a simultaneous and personalized printing and cutting device.

The state of the art can be defined in relation to the following patents:

- DE-A-3.312.372 (CANON K.K.) :- DE-A-3.312.372 (CANON K.K.):

This recording device is therefore suitable, particularly for recording full color images. The recording device is intended for the reconstruction of images on a medium. A measurement system makes it possible to detect a difference in position of the image reconstruction and of the recording system. The recording device is designed to constitute color images on a medium and makes it possible to modify the position of the reconstruction of the image for each color by means of the correction system. This measurement system makes it possible to detect the difference in position of the reconstruction of the image of a reference model formed by means of the recording device.

- ELECTRONIC DESIGN, vol.30,N°22, pages 151-158 :- ELECTRONIC DESIGN, vol.30, N ° 22, pages 151-158:

The printing means makes it possible to print a first pattern, then a second, different from the first, on a textile fabric. The means as described and claimed are different from those of the present invention, in their technical characteristics and even more in their application.

- Brevet DE-A-2.441.756 :- Patent DE-A-2,441,756:

The openings are arranged so as to form a neutral screen pattern on the surface and so that the channels, for their preparation, can receive columns filled with printing ink of the desired shade of color and this, depending on the considered point of the image to be printed.

- Brevet US-A-4.170.883 :- US-A-4,170,883:

These titles contain a flying card making it possible to position the cardboard or paper strip as well as the two layers of cardboard which cover it, on the various devices for printing advertising on both sides, stamping, engraving in the direction longitudinal, apply a layer of glue, fold the printed part between the two unprinted parts, and cut the card.

It is to overcome these drawbacks that a device has been designed using a computer into which is inserted a program which has the role of ensuring the control of a color inkjet printer. From then on, the wallpaper company will only have to store software instead of cylinders, as before.

Furthermore, the current evolution of computer languages tending to simplify the use of these, it is therefore possible to obtain a composition of patterns, and a choice of colors on demand, which determines two advantages: reduce even more, the quantity stored of software, and allow a customization of the wallpapers, each requester being able at his discretion, to combine the reasons which pleases him, to foresee the colors according to his personal taste, thus to grant the wall decoration to the style furniture and have the pleasure, in addition to creation, of going beyond the standards imposed by the choices of companies. In addition, this device makes it possible, in the case of personalized manufacturing, to control the length of the strips by controlling a cutter, which brings the advantage on the one hand of eliminating the falls, and on the other hand, of save time when laying.

This printing and cutting device for manufacturing wallpaper is characterized in that it is controlled by a computer whose mass memory contains the software corresponding to the chosen decorative motif, said computer, associated with a color screen transmitting the data to an inkjet color printer, which is mechanically coupled by a raceway to a cutter, the latter used to cut the strips to the programmed length.

This printer specific to the present use is provided with:
- a control circuit increasing the precision of the positioning of the lines in the horizontal and vertical direction. This increase in two-dimensional precision is necessary for printing wallpaper, because due to the size of the surfaces reconstituted on wall plans, an addition of inaccuracies in the printing or in the cutting of the paper can produce defects. too visible and adversely affect the quality of said paper. This control circuit therefore includes reading means aimed at the vertical and horizontal lines drawn on each side of the strips, associated with means for counting pulses, and integration means ensuring the correction of the positioning of the lines for printing the pattern. to reproduce.
- a device for regulating color saturation comprising reading means allowing the sequential analysis of the zones to be checked, then after digitalization of the means acting on the computer program at the level of the dosage of said colors.

In addition, printer, raceway and cutter form a unit supported by the machine chassis.

Ordering the cutter requires, for its part, the creation of a client of the interface type specific to the present use.

The device for making wallpaper uses a printer and a computer. It is characterized by the fact that the color inkjet printer is connected to a cutter and that this printer plus cutter assembly is controlled by a computer whose mass memory contains software corresponding to the decorative patterns, which allows the user to choose the pattern and the colors and to carry out the personalized manufacture of his wallpaper, and that said printer is mechanically coupled by a raceway to a cutter, the assembly being supported by the chassis of the machine.

The device for cutting the width of the strips is composed of two circular shears and controlled by computer for the displacement of a shears according to the choice made of said width by the user.

The device is of the type comprising a control circuit with reading means, associated with pulse counting means, and of integration to allow correction of the two-dimensional positioning of the printing lines of the pattern to be reproduced; this correction being effected by means of optical sensors which detect a signal injected into an electronic circuit characterized in that said circuit acts on the deflector of the printer.

The computer sends its data simultaneously on the one hand to the printer and on the other hand to an interface ensuring the control of the cutter for the determined lengths of the strips.

In order to explain the invention, and for a better understanding, an embodiment is given by way of non-limiting example, referring to the attached drawings:
  • - Figure 1: symbolic representation of the elements constituting a machine according to the principles of the invention.
  • - Figure 2: block diagram of the electronics of the control circuit of the two-dimensional positioning of an inkjet printer.

The paper stored in the reel 1 is directed into the color printer 2, passes in front of the print head 3, guided by guide rollers 4 then, the paper being inked, it comes before the optical sensors 5, some of which of them will be used for the correction of the position of the printing lines of the pattern to be reproduced, thanks to a signal injected into the electronic correction circuit 6, said circuit acting on the deflector of the inkjet printer 2.

Furthermore, other optical sensors 5 are provided which have the function of sending an analog signal to an analog to digital converter 7 corresponding to the color correction, this converter 7 transmitting the data to the computer 8. This the latter is equipped with a color screen and a mass memory containing the software corresponding to the chosen decorative motif.

The computer 8 sends its data on the one hand to the printer 2 and on the other hand to an interface 9 which controls the cutter of length of the strips 10, the data being validated by the end sensor 11.

The cutting of the width of the strips is ensured by two circular shears 12, one of which is rigorously fixed relative to the printer 2, the entire raceway being mounted in the chassis of the machine 13. The second shears 12 is motorized and moves on a longitudinal axis. The movement operations of the shears 12 are guided by the computer 8 and transmitted by an analog-digital converter 7. End optical sensors 11 placed on each side of the shears 12 make it possible to set a limit on the displacements. The user therefore sets at will the choice of width of the strips, the chassis also supporting an automatic translation table 14 whose role is to stack the pre-cut strips.

La figure 2 est le schéma synoptique de l'électronique du circuit de pilotage du positionnement bidimensionnel de l'imprimante à jet d'encre sur lequel on trouve un circuit d'entrée tampon 15 servant à stocker les données à imprimer et, par un premier convertisseur numérique analogique 16, à les tranformer en coordonnées verticales analogiques ainsi que par un second convertisseur numérique analogique 17, à les transformer en coordonnées horizontales analogiques, ces types de circuits se trouvant habituellement dans certaines imprimantes à jet d'encre.FIG. 2 is the block diagram of the electronics of the control circuit for the two-dimensional positioning of the inkjet printer on which there is a buffer input circuit 15 used to store the data to be printed and, by a first analog to digital converter 16, to transform them into analog vertical coordinates as well as by a second analog to digital converter 17, to transform them into analog horizontal coordinates, these types of circuits usually being found in certain inkjet printers.

The output of the analog converter 16 is connected to one of the inputs of a differential amplifier 18, the outputs of which excite the electrodes of the deflector 19, which act vertically on the ink jet.

The other input of the differential amplifier 18 receives a voltage from an integrator circuit 20, itself supplied by a pulse counter 21 which receives the signals generated by an optical sensor 5 whose function is to read the horizontal test lines, written at the end of each printing line.

There is thus produced a control loop allowing the precise positioning of the printing lines in the vertical direction.

The output of the digital analog converter 17 is connected to one of the inputs of a differential amplifier 22, the outputs of which will excite the electrodes of the deflector 19 which will act horizontally on the ink jet.

The other input of the differential amplifier 22 receives a voltage from an integrator circuit 23, itself supplied by a pulse sensor 24 which receives the signals generated by an optical sensor 5 whose function is to read the lines vertical tests written at the end of each printing line.

By this means, a control loop is made allowing the precise positioning of the printing lines in the horizontal direction.
