Abstract

A densitometric sensing device in which a density measuring head, which is part of the device, traverses an ink test strip printed on a page which is fed to or placed on the device. The problem of misalignment between the thus-placed ink test strip and the scanning direction of the density measuring head is avoided by providing a plurality of density measuring receivers in the measuring head, mounted transverse to the direction of travel so that the ink test strip is always under some of the receivers. The measured density values of all of the receivers are passed to a comparison circuit which cooperates with a logic circuit to determine from the values of the signals themselves which should be used to produce a composite density value, which is then used as the density for the zone being scanned.

Description

Vorrichtungen dieser Gattung sind durch die EP-OS 149 424 bekannt. In dieser Offenlegung wird auch bereits beschrieben, zum präzisen Auffindern der geeigneten Meßposition neben dem Meßfeldstreifen einen Informationscode mitzudrucken. Neben dem Aufwand besteht der Nachteil, daß auf dem bedruckten Bogen noch mehr Platz benötigt wird, was den erzielbaren Nutzen weiter verringert.Devices of this type are known from EP-OS 149 424. Fehler in der Parallelität können aber auch bereits beim Kopieren auftreten, wenn der Meßfeldstreifen nicht genügend gerade montiert wurde. Claims (3)

  1. Device on printing presses for densitometric sensing of a measuring field strip printed on a printed sheet, which can be sensed by means of a multiple read head (2) moved in a guide along the measuring strip (5), characterised in that on the multiple reading head (2), arranged transverse to the measuring strip (5), there are provided a plurality of density measurement receivers (7) adjacent one another, that a comparison circuit (16) is provided to which density values measured in the individual receivers (7) can be fed, whereby in a subsequently arranged evaluation circuit (17) the highest density values representing the position of the multiple reading head (2) relative to the measuring strip (5) are determinable and a signal for the control of an indicator (18, 20) and/or of the drive motor (19) of the multiple reading head (2) can be initiated.
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the highest measured density values determined by the measured value receivers (7) are chosen and brought to display as an average.
  3. Device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the measured values departing from the highest determined measured value by a fixed difference value are eliminated in the measured value evaluation.
