Abstract

In order to increase the abrasion volume of the bottom layer of a twin-layered paper-making machine wire, in each case two weft threads 2 are assigned to the top layer and one weft thread 3, formed with a greater diameter is assigned to the bottom layer. The thickness of the bottom weft threads 3 can be 50 - 100% greater than that of the upper weft threads 2, the diameter of which approximates to that of the warp thread 1. <IMAGE>

Description

It is known that in two-ply sieves two groups of weft threads are tied with a group of warp threads, the corresponding individual threads of these groups being intended to lie one above the other as far as possible. The disadvantage of this type of binding is that the wefts of the lower layer are approximately the same or only slightly larger in diameter than those of the upper layer, since otherwise sufficient deformation is not achieved during the heat setting and then the lower wefts protrude too little over the warp threads. As a result, the abrasion volume available for this type of bond is limited.

Furthermore, two bottlenecks occur in the course of the free volume over the sieve thickness, so that the drainage conditions deviate from the ideal arrangement.

The aim of the invention is to increase the abrasion volume of the lower layer on the one hand and to improve drainage and retention on the other hand. The goal is achieved in that two wefts of the upper layer are each assigned to a weft thread of a larger diameter of the lower layer. The thickness of the lower weft threads can be 50 to 100% greater than that of the upper weft threads, the diameter of which is approximately in the order of the warp thread.

Fabrics according to the invention can be produced with five to seventeen-shaft weaves. An important characteristic of these fabrics is that the chain passes only once under a weft of the lower layer in the course of a repeat, so that the weft threads float for a long time have on the barrel side to obtain the necessary volume of abrasion. In order to give the top of the screen the properties necessary for sheet formation, it can be designed with increased orientation in the warp or weft direction.

Using the example of a seven-strand fabric, possible construction variants are now to be explained:
The generally possible course of the warp threads 1 is shown in FIG. 1. The wefts of the upper layer are denoted by 2, those of the lower layer by 3. Group (7) is to be regarded as a fixed point, where the warp thread 1 runs under the weft thread 3 of the lower layer for tying. Furthermore, the course in the area of groups 1 to 6 can have essentially all possible variations above or below the threads 2 of the upper layer. Preferred design options are those in which the warp threads 1 run over two to five weft threads 2 of the upper thread family.

The aim is to achieve the most monoplane possible design, in which the uppermost points of these threads touch a common plane.

Beispiel 1example 1

  • Fig. 2 zeigt den Verlauf des Kettfadens,
  • Fig. 3 die Patrone der Bindung und
  • Fig. 4 das Kontakbild der Papierseite.
In this example, the warp thread 1 initially runs over three, then under three and finally over two weft threads 2 of the upper layer.
  • 2 shows the course of the warp thread,
  • Fig. 3, the cartridge of the bond and
  • Fig. 4 shows the contact picture of the paper side.

From Fig. 4 it can be seen that the proportion of the support on the weft threads is approximately equal to that on the warp threads, which is a preferred embodiment especially for marking-sensitive papers. Such a fabric can be produced with 62 warp threads / cm, diameter 0.17 mm and 40 weft threads / cm, diameter 0.17 mm, the top layer and 20 weft threads / cm, diameter 0.30 mm, the bottom layer.

Beispiel 2Example 2

Die Schußzahl beträgt hier 46 cm abwechselnd mit Durchmesser o,17 mm und o,14 mm.Another embodiment is shown in FIG. 5 (course of the warp thread), FIG. 6 (cartridge) and FIG. 7 (contact image of the paper side), the warp thread 1 being guided once over three weft threads 2. There is predominantly transverse floatation on the paper side, which above all results in good retention and removal of the paper. The number of warp threads and the diameter are the same as in example 1. The number of wefts here is 46 cm alternately with diameters 0.17 mm and 0.14 mm.

Beispiel 3Example 3

Ein Ausführungsbeispiel sei 44 Fäden/cm in der Kette 0 o,23, 30 Schußfäden 0 o,23 in der oberen Lage, 15 Schußfäden 0 o,40 mm in der unteren Lage.8, the warp thread 1 here runs over five weft threads 2 of the upper layer. 9 and 10 again show the cartridge and contact image of the paper side. This version shows a stronger warp floatation and is particularly suitable for kraft papers. An exemplary embodiment is 44 threads / cm in the warp 0, 23, 30 weft threads 0, 23 in the upper layer, 15 weft threads 0, 40 mm in the lower layer.
