Definitions
- the invention relates to a household clothes dryer with a rotatable laundry drum in a housing, a fan and an electric tubular heating element which is fastened on a protective plate arranged between the laundry drum and the rear wall of the housing and which delimits an air space which is opened towards the adjacent drum base by an air gap.
- the household clothes dryer can be designed both as an exhaust air dryer and as a condensation dryer.
- tubular heating elements are arranged at approximately the same distance from the protective plate and a metallic screen connected to the drum base.
- the screen serves to protect the drum base from direct heat radiation from the tubular heaters and to distribute the heat radiated by them.
- the invention has for its object to provide a generic household clothes dryer in such a way that the structure and thus the manufacture is simplified, that tubular radiators with a high specific surface load can be used without the temperature of the radiator jacket exceeding permissible values and that good heat distribution from the tubular radiator increases the drum is done.
- the inflow opening is formed by an annular gap between the protective plate and parts of the drum.
- the inflow opening simultaneously forms the play necessary for the rotary movement of the drum relative to the fixed protective plate.
- the protective plate has a plurality of inflow openings distributed over the circumference. These are easy to manufacture and independent of any assembly tolerances.
- the fastening elements allow displacements of the tubular heating element due to thermal expansion essentially only in or against the flow direction. Even after the occurrence of heat-related displacements, a direct flow against the tubular heating element is thus ensured, as a result of which overheating of the tubular heating element or the region of the protective plate adjacent to it or the opposite region of the drum base is avoided.
- a longitudinal wall of the cutouts is formed on the protective plate.
- the fasteners are particularly easy to manufacture in the form of elbows. This further simplifies the assembly of the tubular heater on the protective plate.
- the fastening elements are formed in one piece on the protective plate, which simplifies both the manufacture and the assembly of the clothes dryer.
- a laundry drum 1 for receiving laundry 2 is mounted in a housing with a rear wall 3 of the housing via a bearing 4.
- a drum base 6, which is rotationally symmetrical with respect to the drum shaft 5, has essentially the shape of a flat truncated cone with a first inclined region 7, to which a second region 9 adjoins radially outwards via an annular region 8 running perpendicular to the drum axis 5, with an enlarged region compared to the first region 7 Angle of inclination.
- the region 9 is adjoined by a region 12 which is essentially U-shaped in cross section, with legs inclined towards the inside of the washing drum 1 in the sense of an enlargement of the U-shape, the radially inward leg 13 having a greater inclination than the radial one has outward leg 14.
- the leg 14 is adjoined by an outer wall 15 running perpendicular to the drum shaft 5, which extends to the outer circumference of the drum 1 and merges there into a fold 16, in which part of an outer wall 17 of the laundry drum 1 is held.
- the transitions between the individual sections of the drum base 6 are each rounded.
- a rotationally symmetrical protective plate 18 is connected between the latter and the rear wall 3 of the housing.
- the protective plate 18 has a disk-shaped wall 19 extending from the bearing 4. This is adjoined by a first inclined wall 21 running in the direction of the drum base 6 and by a middle wall 22 running perpendicular to the drum shaft 5, the inclination of which is greater than that of the first.
- a wall 24 adjoins the wall 23 with a slight, opposite angle of inclination via a curve so that its distance from the section of the region 9 opposite it increases in the radial direction. Between the walls 23, 24 and the area 9, the distance between the drum base 6 and the protective plate 18 is narrowed in a nozzle shape.
- the wall 24 is adjoined by a wall 25 running perpendicular to the drum shaft 5, which merges radially outward into an inclined side wall 26. It ends shortly before the wall 12 with an end section 27 parallel to it.
- the width ei Nes gap 28, which is formed between the overlapping areas 27 and 12, is kept small, so that the possible air flow through the gap 28 is thus low.
- inflow openings 29 distributed over the circumference are stamped with a lower edge 30 which extends in the circumferential direction and two side edges 31 which extend radially outward therefrom.
- the inflow openings 29 run radially inwards in the oblique direction to the drum base 6.
- a flap formed along the cutting lines 30, 31 on the protective plate 18 is bent in the direction of the drum base 6, so that in each case radially outward of the lower edge 30 at each inflow opening 29 a baffle plate 32 is formed.
- a tubular heating element 33 is fastened to the protective plate 18 radially inward of each inflow opening 29 via fastening elements 34 in the flow direction predetermined by the inflow openings 29.
- the tubular heating element 33 is held in a recess 35 corresponding to an elongated hole, so that displacements occurring due to thermal expansion can essentially only take place in or against the flow direction predetermined by the inflow openings 29.
- Each fastening element 34 consists of a holding block 36 which can be screwed to the protective plate 18 and a web 37 extending at right angles thereto, the side of which facing the protective plate 18 forms a longitudinal side of the recess 35.
- the free end of the web 37 has a projection 37 Ab as a partial closure of the recess 35, so that the movement of the tubular heating element 33 is limited radially outward.
- the opposite longitudinal side of the recess 35 is formed as a projection 38, for example by stamping, on the protective plate 18.
- the tubular heater 33 is in relation to the inflow Openings 29 are arranged in such a way that there is a direct flow and even at the greatest thermal expansion for a safe flow around the entire tubular heating element 33 there is a distance 39 to the guide plate 32.
- the high air velocity of approximately 10 m / sec achieved through the inflow openings 29 has the effect that the temperature of the tubular heating element 33 does not exceed approximately 650 ° C. even with high heating power.
- the second exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 has a fastening of the tubular heating element 33 which is different from that of the first; Parts corresponding to the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals in the following.
- the wall 25 of the protective plate 18 has at its radially outer end a section 44 which is offset essentially parallel in the direction of the drum base 6.
- a semicircular section 45 is formed in the middle of this area forms, with a diameter that exceeds that of the tubular heater 33.
- Inflow openings 46 distributed over the circumference, each with an upper edge 47 radially outward, and side edges 48 are formed in one piece on the protective plate 18.
- the guide plate 49 which at the same time forms part of the fastening element, is formed on a tab having cutting edges 47, 48.
- the regions 45, 50 are associated with one another with a slight flattening of the respective semicircular shape in such a way that the tubular heating element 33 can essentially only be displaced in or against the direction of the air flow 51 due to thermal expansions.
- a protective plate 53 is connected to the rear wall 3 of the housing near its radially outer end. It has a conical section 54, which extends from the rear wall 3 of the housing in the direction of the drum base 6, to which a wall 55, which extends vertically to the drum shaft 5, is fastened. This has a cylindrical outer surface 56 radially outward of the outer wall 17.

- the wall 55 has an end wall 72 which extends radially outwards to approximately the diameter of the outer wall 17 and is inclined in the direction of the drum base 6.
- annular inflow opening 73 is formed for an air flow 74 with an inflow angle of approximately 45 °, which is deflected in an essentially radial direction in the inflow opening 73 for direct flow around the tubular heating element 33.
- an inflow opening 82 is formed between an end section 80 connected to the base 12 of the U-shaped region and an angle plate 81 connected to the rear wall 3 of the housing.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a household clothes dryer with a rotatable laundry drum in a housing, a fan and an electric tubular heating element which is fastened on a protective plate arranged between the laundry drum and the rear wall of the housing and which delimits an air space which is opened towards the adjacent drum base by an air gap.
The household clothes dryer can be designed both as an exhaust air dryer and as a condensation dryer.
In a known household laundry dryer (DE-Gbm 83 28 232), which is designed as an exhaust air dryer, tubular heating elements are arranged at approximately the same distance from the protective plate and a metallic screen connected to the drum base. The screen serves to protect the drum base from direct heat radiation from the tubular heaters and to distribute the heat radiated by them.
The invention has for its object to provide a generic household clothes dryer in such a way that the structure and thus the manufacture is simplified, that tubular radiators with a high specific surface load can be used without the temperature of the radiator jacket exceeding permissible values and that good heat distribution from the tubular radiator increases the drum is done.
This object is achieved in a household clothes dryer of the type mentioned according to the invention in that the air gap is designed as an inflow opening for the supply of working process air at high speed and that the tubular heater is attached to the protective plate immediately adjacent to the inflow opening.
It is thereby achieved that work process air or recirculated air conveyed by the fan can be passed directly from the air space at high speed past the tubular heating element and pressed in the direction of ventilation holes provided in the drum base. The fact that the shape of the protective plate leads to the formation of the inflow opening makes it easy to produce. Since the direct air flow weakens the heat transfer between the tubular heater and the protective plate, the tubular heater can be attached near the protective plate. This results in a greater distance between the tubular heater and the drum base with a constant distance between the protective plate and the drum base, so that the drum base is protected from direct heat radiation. The arrangement of a screen to protect the drum base is therefore not necessary.
In a preferred embodiment, the inflow opening is formed by an annular gap between the protective plate and parts of the drum. The inflow opening simultaneously forms the play necessary for the rotary movement of the drum relative to the fixed protective plate.
In a further preferred embodiment, the protective plate has a plurality of inflow openings distributed over the circumference. These are easy to manufacture and independent of any assembly tolerances.
In household laundry dryers with fastening elements for fastening the tubular heating element to the protective plate, it has proven to be advantageous that the fastening elements allow displacements of the tubular heating element due to thermal expansion essentially only in or against the flow direction. Even after the occurrence of heat-related displacements, a direct flow against the tubular heating element is thus ensured, as a result of which overheating of the tubular heating element or the region of the protective plate adjacent to it or the opposite region of the drum base is avoided.
It has proven to be advantageous that the fastening elements in the direction of the inflow opening U-shaped elongated holes have corresponding recesses for receiving the tubular heater.
In a preferred embodiment, a longitudinal wall of the cutouts is formed on the protective plate. The fasteners are particularly easy to manufacture in the form of elbows. This further simplifies the assembly of the tubular heater on the protective plate.
In a further preferred embodiment, the fastening elements are formed in one piece on the protective plate, which simplifies both the manufacture and the assembly of the clothes dryer.

In the first embodiment shown incompletely in FIGS. 1 and 2, a
At a distance from the
In the section of the
The high air velocity of approximately 10 m / sec achieved through the
During the operation of the tumble dryer according to the invention, work process air generated by a fan (not shown), due to the small width of the
The
In the third exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 5, a
The fourth exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 6 differs from the third illustrated in FIG. 5 in that an
In the fifth exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 7, an
The
