Description

The invention relates to a composite fabric as a paper machine screen according to the preamble of claim 1. known from DE-A-3 318 990.

Many attempts have recently been made to use composite fabrics as paper machine screens, but these have largely been unsuccessful. The failure of these paper machine screens is essentially due to the following four causes:
  • 1. The fine top or forming fabric and the coarse bottom or wear fabric are so different in their binding mechanics, for example as far as the transverse contraction in relation to the longitudinal expansion is concerned, that the screens run into folds after a short period of time.
  • 2. The different transverse contraction causes high tensions in the binding threads, which not only produce marking depressions in the surface of the sieve, but can also destroy the binding threads in connection with the load changes that occur constantly during operation.
  • 3. The inside of the wearing fabric, that is to say the lower fabric, has a significant influence on the marking behavior of the forming fabric, that is to say the upper fabric. The inner fabric used up to now has too few support points on which the forming fabric can be supported. This sags due to the relatively large distances between the support points and forms a pattern of depressions or elevations which add to the binding point depressions and thereby produce strong markings in the paper.
  • 4. The running times of such composite sieves are significantly shorter than the running times of comparable double-layer sieves, the manufacture of which is otherwise less complex.

The object of the invention is therefore to design the composite fabric of the type mentioned in such a way that it has a new type of lower fabric, with the aid of which the above-mentioned disadvantages are eliminated.

For this purpose, it is proposed according to the invention that the lower fabric contains two groups of transverse threads, the first of which are interwoven in 1: 1 weave and the second in 1: n weave with the warp threads of the lower fabric, that successive transverse threads of different types of weave, based on form double offsets on the inside of the lower fabric, touch, and that the long n offsets form a wear plane on the outside, where n means odd numbers greater than 1.

The weave of the lower fabric is therefore determined in such a way that some of the transverse threads are interwoven with the longitudinal threads in a 1: 1 offset ratio and the other part in a 1: n offset ratio, where n is the number of longitudinal threads that are on the running side, i.e. the outside, are spanned by the cranks of the 1: n cross threads. In this way, successive cross threads of different types of weave touch and form double offsets on the inside.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. The drawing shows:
  • FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show a top view from the inside of the lower fabrics of known composite screens,
  • FIG. 4 shows a top view of the inside of the lower fabric according to the invention,
  • 5 and 6 are top views of the outside (running side) of composite screens according to the invention,
  • FIG. 7 shows a plan view of a complete composite screen made of upper and lower fabrics, the finer upper fabric being shown only partially,
  • FIG. 8 shows a spatial representation of the running side of the lower fabric,
  • Figure 9 is a schematic representation of the course of the wear threads over the longitudinal threads, and
  • 10 shows two binding cartridges of the fabric according to the invention.

Da die Längsfäden dem Verschleiss nicht ausgesetzt werden sollen, da anderenfalls die Längsstabilität sehr schnell verloren geht, sind die Auflage-Kröpfungen in der Regel Querkröpfungen.1, 2 and 3, the inner sides of the lower fabric of known composite screens are shown; the bends 1, 2 and 3 are the support points for the upper fabric. Since the longitudinal threads should not be exposed to wear, since otherwise the longitudinal stability is lost very quickly, the overlaps are generally transverse crankings.

Fig. 4 zeigt die Innenseite des erfindungsgemässen Untergewebes. Solche Verbundsiebe neigen deshalb nichts zur Faltenbildung. t 4 shows the inside of the lower fabric according to the invention. Since the upper fabric of the composite screen according to the invention also has a simple weave, the contraction values can be coordinated with one another in such a way that no significant stresses arise between the upper and lower fabrics, regardless of the weft properties of the wear side of the lower fabric. Such composite screens therefore have no tendency to wrinkle. t

The bottom fabric of the composite screen according to the invention has 12 cross-bends 4, 5 on its inside. Since this bottom fabric can be designed in such a way that the longitudinal bends 6 and cross-bends 4, 5 of the inside lie almost in the same plane, without the runner characteristic of the barrel side being lost, the number of support points can be increased to 20. Practice shows, however, that 12 crossbends are sufficient as support points. 5 and 6 show the running sides of two composite screens according to the invention. 5, the wear thread 7 spans five longitudinal threads. The cranks are distributed so that they form left and right diagonals at the same angle. This particularly stabilizes the straight running of the paper machine screen.

In Fig. 6, the transverse cranks 8 extending over three longitudinal threads are cross-shaped ver divides, achieving the same effect. The number of 1: 1-bound cross threads is larger than that of 1: 3-bound cross threads.

Die Verbindung zwischen Obergewebe und Untergewebe wird mit Bindeschussfäden 11 hergestellt, Diese Bindungstechnik ist an sich bekannt.FIG. 7 shows a complete composite sieve of the type according to the invention, consisting of a fine, simple upper fabric 9 and a coarse lower fabric 10 of the type shown in FIG. The connection between the upper fabric and the lower fabric is established with binding weft threads 11. This binding technique is known per se.

The running side of the composite fabric according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, with FIG. 9 in particular showing the protrusion a of the wear threads over the longitudinal threads. It can be seen from this illustration that the wear cranks can wear completely without the longitudinal threads being attacked, as a result of which the desired long running times of the paper machine screen are achieved.

Fig. 10 zeigt eine Möglichkeit, die durch die Verschleisskröpfungen gebildete Diagonale dadurch zu brechen, dass der Bindungspatrone A mit einer S-Diagonalen eine Bindungspatrone B mit einer Z-Diagonalen angehängt wird.FIG. 10 shows a possibility of breaking the diagonal formed by the wear cranks by attaching a binding cartridge B with a Z diagonal to the binding cartridge A with an S diagonal.
