Um die Wirksamkeit von Wärmeaustauschern, Verdampfern, Kondensatoren und dergleichen, die der Leitung von radioaktiv verseuchtem Wasser dienen, aufrecht zu erhalten, müssen diese von Zeit zu zeit gereinigt werden. Dies geschieht gegenwärtig in der Weise, daß die Rohrbündel, beispielsweise eines Kondensators, geöffnet und von Hand durch die einzelnen Rohre ein an seinem vorderen Ende mit einer Spritzdüse versehener Hochdruckschlauch hindurchgeschoben wird, so daß das aus der Spritzdüse spritzende Wasser, das in dem Hochdruckschlauch einen Druck von 400 bis etwa 700 bar aufweisen kann, die Ablagerungen auf den Innenwandungen der Rohre entfernt. Als Spülwasser wird dabei vollentsalztes Wasser verwendet. Der Bedienungsmann ist dabei der starken radioaktiven Strahlung aus dem offenen Kondensatorkopf ausgesetzt, so daß er die Reinigungsarbeit nur für kurze Zeit ausführen kann und häufig abgelöst werden muß.In nuclear power plants, for example, a large amount of radioactive water is produced, which is decontaminated by evaporation.
