Description

The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1.

A vacuum cleaner of this type is known from EP-A-0 044 501, the housing part being connected to a cleaning tool of the vacuum cleaner and a blower via a suction line. The suction air flow generated by the suction fan flows to the suction fan after the dust-containing suction air flow coming from the cleaning tool has flowed through the dust filter and collection container.

The dust filter and collection container must be emptied or replaced at certain intervals, for example if the container is a disposable bag.

Since the dust filter and collection container has to be emptied or replaced frequently in the event of heavy dirt accumulation, the lid must also be able to be opened and closed again simply and quickly and without special precautionary measures. For this purpose, the lid is articulated and permanently attached to the housing part, so that it remains in the open position on the housing part and does not need to be removed from it and placed on a storage surface. However, since the lid is relatively large and heavy, there is a risk that it or its joint may be damaged or destroyed by bumping against the lid or when inserting the container, or also by improper opening. Then usually the lid or the housing part must be replaced, which is associated with a considerable amount of work and time and costs.

The invention has for its object to provide a vacuum cleaner of this type so that the lid and the housing part can not be damaged or destroyed when bumping against the lid or when improperly opening the lid.

This object is achieved in a vacuum cleaner of the generic type with the characterizing features of claim 1.

As a result of the design according to the invention, the open lid is moved from its open position into a release position in the event of excessive force, it being able to avoid the forces acting on it. Here, the cover can be moved beyond the open position until it comes into contact with the housing part without load. By swinging the. Lid ensures that the lid or the housing part cannot be damaged. Since the cover is also held in the release position on the housing part, it can be quickly and easily returned to its closed position by moving it in the opposite direction.

Further features of special embodiments of the invention result from the further claims, the description and the drawings.

The invention is described below with reference to several exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings.

Der vom Motorgebläse 2 erzeugte Saugluftstrom durchströmt den Beutel 3, wobei der aufgenommene Schmutz und Staub in bestimmten Zeitabständen entfernt werden muß.1 shows a part of a vacuum cleaner housing 1, in which a motor housing is accommodated, which feeds a suction air stream coming from a (not shown) cleaning tool of the vacuum cleaner via a (not shown) suction line to a dust filter and collecting container designed as a bag 3. The bag 3 lies in a receptacle 4 of the housing part 1 which can be closed with a lid, from which it can be easily removed for emptying or, if it is designed as a disposable bag, for replacement and into which it can be reinserted simply and quickly. The bag 3 is connected to a dust air supply line (not shown). The suction air flow generated by the motor fan 2 flows through the bag 3, the dirt and dust that has been absorbed having to be removed at certain time intervals.

The large cover 5 is articulated and non-detachably connected to the housing part 1 via a swivel arm 6. The swivel arm 6 is a two-armed, elongated, plate-like lever. One of its lever arms 7 is curved in the form of a part circle in the longitudinal direction and is fastened to the housing part 1 by means of a retaining web 18 which extends approximately in half length and runs radially to it about a pivot axis 8. On the other, approximately equally long and straight lever arm 12, the cover 5 is pivotally mounted. The associated pivot axis 9 is immediately adjacent to a concavely curved edge section 7b (FIG. 2) of the lever arm 7. The free end 7a of the lever arm 7 is formed by a thin spring web 10, which is 7 significantly thinner than that between the holding web 18 and the Lever arm 12 lying arm section 10 '(Fig. 2) and the lever arm 12. The ends 7a and 12a of the swivel arm 6 each have a locking member 11 or 13 of a holding device 11, 16 and 13, 14 with which the cover 5 in its 2 is locked against the housing part.

In the open position, the cam-shaped locking member 11 of the lever arm 7 lies in a groove-shaped locking counter-member 16 of a housing wall 17, while the shoulder-shaped locking member 13 of the lever arm 12 bears against a bow-like locking counter-member 14 of the cover 5. At the same time, the swivel arm 6 is supported with a projection 20 on an inner surface 15 of the lid 5, whereby the lid exerts a counterforce when opening the holding device 13, 14, so that the latching device is not unintentionally released in the closed position and during opening.

If the cover 5 is pivoted to open in the direction of the arrow Pin Fig. 2, the pivot arm 6, which is firmly connected to the cover 5 via the holding device 13, 14, pivots about its pivot axis 8 on the housing part 1 until the latching member 11 at the end 7a of the Lever arm 7 engages in the locking counter member 16 of the housing wall 17. Here, the holding web 18 comes to rest against a stop 19 of the housing part 1, so that the swivel arm cannot be pivoted beyond the open position. The lid 5 is now in an approximately vertical position to the housing part 1 and thus in its open position in use, in which the bag 3 can be removed from the receiving space 4 and then reinserted into it (FIG. 2).

When opening the cover 5, the uninterrupted, convexly curved edge section 7c of the lever arm 7 facing away from the holding web serves as a guide part with which the swivel arm 6 slides along a free end 17a (FIG. 1) of the housing wall 17. As a result, the cover is aligned exactly with respect to the housing part 1 when pivoting, so that it can be pivoted smoothly and damage to the joint parts is properly prevented.

Act on the lid 5 in its open position according to Fig. 2, e.g. by bumping the lid when removing or reinserting the bag 3 or when opening it due to improper operation, excessive forces are applied, then the lid 5 is pivoted beyond the open position into a release position (FIG. 3). The locking counter-member 14 is pressed over the locking member 13 so that the holding device 13, 14 is released and the cover in the direction of arrow P can avoid the forces acting on it. At the same time, however, the latching connection of the holding device 11, 16 remains, since the stop 19 of the housing part 1 prevents the swivel arm 6 from rotating. As a result of this evasive movement of the cover 5, it is ensured that the force acting on the cover and thus the housing part cannot lead to damage or destruction of these parts.

From the release position, the cover 5 can be brought into the closed position (FIG. 1) simply and quickly by pivoting against the direction of the arrow P. The locking connection of the holding device 13, 14 is automatically restored and the locking connection of the holding device 11, 16 is released, so that the lid can be opened again after closing without additional measures.

The stop limiting the maximum permissible open position can e.g. be designed as a capsule 50 (FIGS. 4, 5) which coaxially engages over the turns of the leg fields 45. Part of the capsule wall is removed, so that two stop edges 51 and 52 are formed, on which the legs 46 and 47 of the leg spring 45 lie, including the maximum permissible opening angle a.

In a further possibility (FIGS. 6, 7) of limiting the maximum permissible opening angle a, the stop is designed as a tab 53 which is provided with openings 54, 54 'into which the legs 46 and 47 of the leg spring 45 protrude. The maximum permissible opening angle α of the two legs 46 and 47 is formed by the abutment of these legs on the walls of the openings 54, 54 'which are at the greatest distance from one another.

Another possibility is to choose the pretension of the leg spring 45 so that the opening angle of the two legs 46 and 47 in the relaxed state of the leg spring 45 is less than the maximum permissible opening angle a.

Der maximale Öffnungswinkel a ist kleiner als 180°.To open the cover part 5 further, it is then necessary to move the cover 5 further by hand. In order to avoid deformation of the leg spring 45, it is appropriate to adjust the maximum permissible opening angle a by e.g. limit the abovementioned stop elements 50 and 53. The maximum opening angle a is less than 180 °.
