Abstract

This facing element consists of a narrow, thin, fibre-reinforced concrete or synthetic resin dispersion concrete slab (4) which can be put together on a substructure to form a smooth facade totally sealed against driving rain, in the manner of a composite brickwork structure. The slab consists of a front slab part (3) which is designed as an exposed surface in the manner of natural-cleft limestone brickwork, or which is inlaid with facing slabs of natural stone, ceramic, ashlar or glass, visually divided by shallow closed or deep partially open joints (1), and of a smooth slab part (2) which is offset rearwards parallel by a slab thickness, is hung on and/or fastened to the substructure and is covered by the front slab part (3) of the overlaid facing element. The two slab parts (2 and 3) are offset laterally relative to one another in a particular embodiment, so that even with partially open joints no crossjoint is visible and the elements can be fitted together to form a totally leaktight facade. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a cladding element for facade surfaces, which is assembled on a substructure made of wood, metal or plastic to form a flat wall in the manner of a composite masonry.

Such cladding elements are used both in the renovation of old buildings and as a curtain wall to protect a thermal insulation layer in old and new buildings.

From DE-OS 22 42 198 a component for building cladding purposes with a visible surface in the manner of a composite masonry is known, which consists of a plate made of brick powder, quartz and polyester resin. It is bonded to the wall with cement mortar or another adhesive material and serves primarily decorative purposes.
In addition, asbestos cement slabs with differently designed visible surfaces, also in the manner of a composite or, better, veneer masonry, are known. These panels are nailed or screwed onto a slat-like substructure. They form a ventilated facade that can also serve as protection for a thermal insulation layer. Since the butt joints of the panels are not covered, the panels can be recognized as such. A driving rainproof installation cannot be achieved. In addition, the nail or screw heads of the fastening are visibly exposed to the weather and thus to corrosion.

It was therefore the task of developing a cladding element for facades, which can be assembled on a substructure made of wood, metal or plastic to form a flat wall in the manner of a composite masonry, the butt joints as well as the fastening points being covered, so that an absolutely driving rainproof Facade is created.

This object was achieved by the cladding element for facade surfaces according to the invention, which is to be fastened to a substructure made of wood, metal or plastic, characterized in that the plate-shaped component (4) consists of fiber-reinforced concrete or fiber-reinforced synthetic resin concrete with a front plate part designed as a visible surface ( 3) in the manner of a rough, rough limestone masonry or with inserted veneer panels made of natural stone, ceramic, stone or glass, optically divided by high-lying closed or low-lying partially open joints (1) and a smooth panel part (2) with attachment points (12) that is offset in parallel by panel thickness - 15 and 28).

The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that, on the one hand, the fastening points are protected against moisture and thus against corrosion, and, on the other hand, the entire curtain wall is laid absolutely rain and dustproof. This significantly increases the service life of the substructure and also prevents the thermal insulation material from becoming damp and thus reducing its thermal insulation. In addition, the elements can be made relatively thin because of the high breaking strength of fiber-reinforced concrete or synthetic resin concrete, so that the facade has only a low weight despite its high strength.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of various drawings, each representing an embodiment. It shows:
  • Fig. 1, the front of the cladding element 4 according to the invention with low-lying partially open joint 1, in which the plate part 3 offset parallel to the rear is laterally offset. This ensures that the joints of adjacent elements are covered even when the joint 1 is partially open.
  • Fig. 2 shows the side view of this element with perpendicular surfaces. It can be seen here how the smooth plate part 2 is offset in a stepped manner with respect to the front 3, so that a flat surface is created on both sides when laying.
  • Fig. 3 is a side view of an embodiment of the element in which the surfaces 9 and 10 of the smooth plate part 2 are chamfered, so that a wider connection of the two plate parts 2 and 3 is formed.
  • Fig. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the element in which the surfaces 9 and 10 are chamfered so that the upper element can be plugged onto the lower one during installation.
  • Fig. 5 is a side view of an embodiment of the element, in which the visible surface of the stones is chamfered all around, so that a dirt deposit in the joints is avoided.
  • 6, the front of the element in the same design as in Fig. 5th
  • 7 shows an installation pattern with a rear covering of the partially open joints 1 and the horizontal joint 5 that is created during installation.
  • Fig. 8 shows the front of an embodiment of the element with laying aids in the form of notches 7 and counter pin 8 on the horizontal edges of the smooth plate part 2, whereby the uniform offset of the elements arranged one above the other is achieved by half a stone width.

  • Fig.13 the front of an embodiment of the cladding element according to the invention with a high closed joint and laterally not mutually offset plate parts 2 and 3 with four drill holes 28, of which from one row to another, because of the desired offset by 1 1/2 stone widths, two constantly and the other two are used alternately. The distances between the substructure differ by half a stone width. In this way it is possible to minimize the number of holes and nail points.
  • 14-18 the side views of embodiments of the element with different designs of the horizontal edges of the smooth plate part 2, specifically rounded in an arc 17, wedge-shaped 18, step-like 19, pontoon-shaped 20 and S-shaped edges 21.
  • 19 shows a special embodiment in the view from above of the element with a bulge 22 on the laterally projecting edge of the smooth plate part 2 and a corresponding recess 23 in the front plate part 3, which is particularly advantageous for laying the elements one above the other without offset.
  • 20 special embodiments of the butt joints of two adjacent elements in the view from above, namely wedge-shaped 24, arched 25, pontoon-shaped 26 and as tongue and groove 27, whereby the sealing against water and dust is improved.
